SamR
Hello. Firstly, sorry sorry and sorry again.. I'm sure this topic has been covered time and gain but I've spent quite a while trying to find info and been unsuccessful! Just a link to the relevant thread would be greatly appreciated! My Zed has 20'' wheels all round (as I bought it) and the inner edges, esp on the front were worn bald. I had new tyres fitted all round and just went to have the alignment etc sorted.. I was told the data for the car with those wheels didn't exist! So was turned away (thanks Kwik Fit)! I then called around a couple of performance specialists and was told the chassis would need modifying to sort the negative camber!!! Does anyone know of a place that can sort this or if it can be sorted without massive mods to the car? (I'm in South London) Sorry once again to the more experienced members for posting something that you've probably all gone over before! Cheers. Sam. Paul K
Kaizer engineering in Rochester. Worth the trip out You may need adjustable rear camber arms if they are too far out Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Rob350
The rears have very little camber and toe adjustment as Iv just learnt, so iv just had to buy a pair of adjustable rear camber arms, and a pair of toe bolts for around 180 from cougar store now everything is pulled straight again, apparently the fronts don't have much adjustment either but they won't be MASSIVELY out at the maximum adjustment so youl have a smidgets neg camber on front I think. If you want the fronts to be perfect aswell you'll need front adjustable arms, these are around 400 though. I didn't know much either at the time so i rung up cougar store and explained my situation and that I didn't know what I needed, and they were great, told me exactly what I needed and the kind of prices I'd be looking at . SamR
Thank you for the fast response Paul! I don't mind the drive at all, I'll look them up and give them a call! I'd be happy spending a bit more on adjustable arms too.. I don't fancy spending 1k every few thousand miles on the tyres!!
SamR
You can visually see the negative camber on the front and back, I'll try to reduce the file size of some pics and post them.. I'm just hoping that I don't have to buy whole new wheels after getting these ones new rubber!
Ekona
What size tyres are you running? And are you lowered at all? A Zed (assuming 350, you don't say though), even on 20" wheels, should be able to be put into the OEM settings as long as it's not lowered. With bigger wheels, all you're doing is swapping metal for rubber, so everything else should stay the same. I mean, it's going to move by fractions, but not enough that someone shouldn't be able to get it back to OEM.
ZMANALEX
Just get a 4 wheel alignment done using the oem settings for the 18" wheels. Use this as a starting point and tweak from there to suit what you are trying to achieve. If your car is not lowered there should be ample adjustment for toe and camber on the rear. Plenty toe adjustment on the front Zero camber adjustment on the front with stock upper arms, so you will require adjustable front upper arms if the camber is outwith the manufacturer's specification. Edit: what Dan has just said. ^^^ Edited April 1, 2017 by ZMANALEX
SamR
The hasn't been lowered, all I'm trying to achieve is even wear without unnecessary friction, want it running straight and true. The tyres are 245/35 20 in the front and 285/30 20 in the rear (got the mpss) Getting them done with the 18" settings seems to be the general consensus so I'll give it another go at a local garage. Thank you all for your advice!
