MaRkY172
Hi guys, Bought my lovely roadster home last night and have had the roof up and down 3 times today. I went out for a final drive early evening with the "mrs" and she asked to put the roof up at 7pm (outside temp about 9/10 degrees). I pulled over and pressed the button and it did it's thing but unfortunately stopped at the last stage and wont close fully! The red warning light came on and the windows wouldn't shut! Waited for a while as roof up/down button stopped working. Tried again and again to no avail. Now the roof wont close completely or open even a little bit. Had to drive home holding roof down with our hands. Any suggestions would be greatly received. Roof is currently open a little at the front. Gutted as only had the car 1 day! Paul K
I think ( this may need verifying) but there is a way to release the mech to enable you close it manually. Don't force it though Have a read if this http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/66400-how-do-you-manually-close-the-roadster-roof/ There are extra links in this thread that may help Also have a look on the my350z forum Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Edited March 24, 2017 by Paul K

MaRkY172
Thanks everyone so far ... Tried again and still no luck Is it possible that at 9/10 degrees it was too cold to shut properly and might work in the morning when the temp is warmer??? Ebized
Is the 370 roof operation the same as the 350 guys?
Paul K
Oops. I didn't see that it was a 370 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Will370z
The 370'roof isn't as prone to temperature as the 350 and I rarely hear of issues with the roof mechanism not shutting properly. Sounds like something may be faulty. If you have only had the car 1 day I would be taking it back to the place you purchased it and get them to fix it, unless it was a private sale, otherwise I would take it to a specialist to get it investigated. Don't mess with the 370 roof, if anything gets it out of alignment you are in for big expensive problems.
MaRkY172
Yes it is a 370. I am waiting for the break down recovery people to see what is wrong. The motor makes a noise but it wont latch properly or even open now. It moves a bit closer to try and latch but then gives up a returns to the position I have attached here ... JurassicZ
Just seen this thread. Really sorry for you and so new into your 370Z ownership. Hope the selling party sorts this for you. Any news on what the problem is? Neve heard of a 370Z roof issue like this before
Will370z
Just to reinforce the message, as noted elsewhere on the forum, be careful letting non specialists deal with the 370 roof. I know of one case where the roof adjustements/replacements caused the roof to become misaligned and the member went through a painful process of having 3 subsequent roofs fitted and each one caused gradual wearing of the material near the windows. They are fitted by laser and have to be dealt with by specialists. Sly at kaizer motor for example. Hope you get it sorted.

MaRkY172
Its good news guys! Took it to Nissan main stealer and their master technician diagnosed the roof being stuck to the frame from lack of lubrication! Easy fix thank goodness!!! Thanks for all the support and suggestions though guys!
