jammo2k
Hi everyone. I have 3 kerbed alloys, just had a quote for £140 per wheel as they are diamond cut, does this sound about right? Cheers J
nrenz123
Seems very expensive to me. Have they said they'd be able to match the original colour?
jammo2k
The wheels are 2 different colours (it's the white 370z Nismo) They said because they have to be diamond cut it was expensive.
WINKJ
mk1 or mk2 wheel? mk1 aren't diamond cut are they?
jammo2k
yes apparently so, its a mk2
WINKJ
Mk1 aren't diamond cut. MK 2 are. 140 per wheel seems a little rich but not too OTT. Why not ask if they do all 3 for 300 and work your way from there
Dashurik
I would say its about right! I did my Dotz Hanzo wheels.Cost me £480... Remember ! Every wheel will have to be straightened up(as they buckled in some or another way) in order for diamond cut machine to follow the line! If they quoted you including this service then its about right price! my wheels were refurbished at WEST HAMSTEAD,London..
SHEZZA
I had my 350z 19" LMGT4 nismo alloys refurbed and diamond cut at jp alloys in Cannock . About £380 for all four http://www.jpalloys.co.uk/ Edited March 24, 2017 by SHEZZA
5tu
I've only found out to my horror that the previous owner of my car had refurbed my Mk2 Nismo alloys twice. The finish on the diamond cut lips is corroding after 12 months and the place that did them pretty much admitted they'll always go that way. I don't know what they do different to the manufacturer as the one orignal wheel is still fine. Needless to say i'll probably get them done in one colour when the time comes rather than go diamond cut again.

Sadly there's a limit to how many times you can have a wheel diamond cut I believe, as you'll eventually end up with no lip on the wheel. so that maybe your only option now. 5tu
No great loss. I might go for a satin black finish instead
nrenz123
Clearcoat over the cut part to seal it?
