-G-
2006 makes it a revup, so single throttle, slightly more power than the earlier DE, also means no need for breathing mods as Nissan "fixed" thier plenum issue with the new engine design. Will assume you had either a 2002-2004 DE or 300zx prior to this? Can't imagine anyone trading down from an HR though I'm sure it's happened. Rev Up still has the restricted air flow to the front cylinders and will benefit from the plenum spacers. They didn't sort it until the HR. -G-
Ah, I thought it was fixed with the Revup? Good to know!
Strudul
DE and Rev Up are pretty much the same engine except the Rev Up has: - Variable cam timing on both exhaust and intake, whereas the non Rev Up is only on the intake side. - Higher rev limiter at 7k rpm, rather than 6.5k. - Stronger connecting rods, con rod bolts, crank, exhaust cams, etc.
davey_83
And redesigned lower plenum, tailored for more top end iirc.......
Stan
You can also install a lower plenum from the pre-revup DE to give it a bit more as well (this is basically the motordyne lower plenum but without a full port and polish, which can be a DIY job if you want to do it) Edited March 19, 2017 by Stan
