Colin747
I noticed today when I parked that my gear knob seems twisted off to one side, when I went to twist it back it seems the shaft is moving with it (on second thought it could just be the material...). Is this a normal enough occurrence or is there an underlying problem? Here's a quick video of what I mean. Willsy1980
Looks like its just worked loose, Nissan doused them in lock tight (due to the vibrations) and they are usually a nightmare to get off. The leather is attached to the knob with a zip tie so it will move with it. Pop the surround off, remove the 4 screws on the under side, remove knob and apply some fresh lock tight or a few rubber O-ring washers to the shaft and re-fit Edited March 2, 2017 by Willsy1980
Colin747
Thanks very much, was toying with replacing the gear knob anyway so guess it's half done for me haha
KyleR
Don't be tempted to really tighten it back up in the mean time, you can damage the linkage if you don't grip the shaft at the same time with vice grips or similar.
