GT Driver
Finally! I now own a HR my third owned Z. I picked her up last night - at the beginning of Storm Doris.. The specs are: May 2008 HR Ebisu Black 69k kms / 43k miles 3 owners Full Service History Standard Love it so far. But haven't been really able to take it for a spirited drive due to the weather. I've noticed a different power delivery in the HR over the DE- it pulls right up through the revs.. the Bi-Xexon headlights, bonnet hump, and rear LEDs really transform the car. The interior is great also- particularly the positioning of the hazard lights button Right now it needs a drivers side window motor regulator. It started failing last night - but other than that it's in top shape. Stormy picture last night a few minutes after picking her up: Oh and I should probably mention I still have my DE.... xscotteex
Bonnet bump is one of my favorite parts of mine. Think it is such a simple design change that completely transforms the look of it

GT Driver
What do you do about finding super unleaded where you are? easy enough to find..... Lovely motor!! Octane booster for us folk in Southern Ireland is the only way to go! Northern Ireland is over an hours drive away from me in Dublin - so using super unleaded is not really a possibility unless I am up that direction. I should note that I haven't heard of any specific "detonation" related failures here yet - and I know a good few Z owners.

GT Driver
Keep an eye on the oil pressure Thanks, will do - have been reading on here about the oil gallery gasket failures. The pressure is spot on at the moment anyway.
Zeezeebaba
It's not as bad a job to do the gallery gaskets on a 350 compared to a 70. Might be something to get done for peace of mind though. At least you can check your oil level easier now with a decently placed dipstick
AMT
Didn't I hear that the HR's oil gallery thing was mostly people who modded their engine? I spoke to one of the guys at Infiniti Glasgow and they've had a fair few over the years and never heard of this happening?
Zeezeebaba
It's a random issue that affects HR and earlier 370s due to the poor gasket material used. Not really anything to do with mods and from what I've seen most HRs are ok but it's just something to be aware of.
AMT
*now has the fear * no one likes random issues, fingers crossed. Any early warning signs? Edited February 27, 2017 by AMT
Zeezeebaba
Don't worry to much, I would be looking at your oil pressure when warm not lower than 15 and preferably above 20. If it's at say 12 get it checked out, I think Nissans safe min is about 14.5 but don't quote me on that (Cue the techs). Also a rough idle may be a sign, when getting the car serviced ask for a proper pressure check with a workshop gauge. The oil won't leak outside the car so your unlikely to see any oil on the floor. Replacement Inc labour shouldn't cost more than 850 at one of the specialists on this forum and most do it under 800. The beauty of the 350 over the 370 in this case is the access to the front of the engine doesn't involve removing the front end of the car as it does on the 70 so labour cost isnt as much.
AMT
Thanks, I'll just keep an eye on it as I normally would anyway, pressures *touch wood * always bang on. I also kinda note the 60 at 60 thing to as a general rule. I've never seen it low, so...good sign haha. Thanks for the info!
