davey_83
Ahhhh got yah. I went with 245/35 and 265/35 with the same wheels, adding a bit of stretch and helping with clearance too.
Hansburger
I like to have the most width tires possible. In the front no issues, but for the back it's just to much. Or my car is to low. Also a possibility. Hahah. Just gonna raise the back a cm more.
Hansburger
I tried the other wheels this week. Really love the look of them! Also ordered some more SPL goodies at @Adrian@TORQEN and got a Kaaz 1.5 diff. Last but nog least... I got myself a VQ37. Let's start with the VQ37HR project this winter. Hansburger
Woohoo! Thanks @Adrian@TORQEN! The building continues. Got some more SPL stuff and a new chain set. Let's get started with the VQ37HR.

Hansburger
I think it's time for a little update... 😛 Been a while and ofcourse we're still having fun with Nemo. Sorry. Picture heavy... Cleaned the rear hatch and removed the weight. Replaced the trunk struts with all new OEM goodies. And the springs by the replacement parts from OpenTop. Gave it his yearly undercarriage wash. All shiny as it's supposed to be. I finally got rid of that narrow steering wheel and ordered new knobs. Also did the handbrake in the same style, alcantara and orange stitching. We finally did some maintenance and fitted the SPL and Driftworks goodies together with the Ultra Racing bars. Really love the way it handles now, it made such a difference! Even the guy that did the allignment was in love. 😍 Aaaaaaand another tour for charity; Dag met een Lach. 😇 A Fundraiser rally in with we participate every year. So much fun with the Z! I only blew my Berk catalists allong the way. At 7.500 RPM the inner ceramics came lose and plugged the exhaust in the back. All the power was gone! At first I thought I blew the engine, to find out it just could not breath anymore. 😛 Luckily Mario and Luigi were there to help! Hahah. Bought myself a set of Toyo R888 tires to play around. And we changed the exhaust again! New Berk HFC's, a ISR single exhaust and Tarmac Sportz Y-pipe. 😎 Still love the way A 350Z looks. So why don't we keep on changing wheels... But in the end I'm again changing back to the GTR wheels. Just love them on my Z! 🤔🤣😂 By the way... My threepiece wheels are at the shop and getting all fresh. After so many years the paint started to peel off and I wanted the inner wheels to be black too. Can't wait to get them back. 😍 At the moment the car is at the garage. Unfortunately my oil gallery gaskets have decided to stop doing their work. Luckily it needed some new oil as well. So just a bit of love and we're good to go again! Last but not least. Still busy with the VQ37HR build! Finally got some good news from the enginebuilder. It only needs a small rebore and we can use 96mm pistons. And I found a good crankshaft in Athens. 😎 Only a few parts needed and the build can start. I think this is it. Will try to keep this page updated the next time. 😛 Hahah.
Hansburger
Engine is back together and oil gallery gaskets are replaced. 😍 Let's see what the oil pressure will do. At the moment it's a bit high in my opinion.... Not sure what we need to do about it. Hopefully it's going to be back normal in a few weeks. Aaaaaand! Finally I ordered myself the pistons for the VQ37HR build. 😎 JE 11.5 compression / 96mm Let's continue building. 💪

350Butcher
Great looking, great spec Z! And about to get better! So you're running with the vq37 rods........JE stuff is nice, do the new pistons have enough valve relief in them to clear the vq35hr exhaust valves? You're gonna love the new engine.........still surprises me how fast my car is now when fully stretched out and I've done few '000 miles on it so thought it would start feeling "normal"

We gonne use the VQ37 rods. They should be enough strong enough for my build. And I just couldn't find any lighter rods, except for some very ver very expensive ones. 🤣 According to the company where I ordered the pistons the clearance must be enough. Just waiting for the pistons to be delivered and then the engine can go to the builder. @itsLeon will put it back together and we will see what it's going to do. I believe you love yours. Should sound very good as well. 😎 Just a question. Where's the redline at your engine? I want to get is somewhere up to 8.000 revs. Just to have that little bit extra revs combined with the 4.08 final drive.

With regards to rods, I used BC rods which aren't anything too special but are steel so plenty strong enough for what I was doing but reduce weight quite significantly over the oem cast items without being loads of ££. Obviously costs always come into play but if you can I'd add these to your build. Oem rods with bolts 656g BC Pro with ARP2000 bolts 575g Just over 12% weight saving and nearly half a kilo off over the 6cylinders.......makes a huge difference at 7-8k rpm Cheers! Yeah it sounds as angry and as keen as it goes......I will try and get a clip of it at some point! I set my rev limiter at the factory 7.5k rpm only for reliability really as I think a few oem cranks have cracked seeing 8k and I don't want to go there myself. With the 4.08 it'll be very impressive, I'm on the 3.9 and it dispatches gears pretty quick and easy. If you do go for 8k I'd be more interested in those steel rods and billet oil pump gears too This is what I installed.............and looking at how much they are now I'm glad I did it when I did ouch!! Great bit of kit though https://boundarypumps.com/shop/nissan/vq-vhr-billet-oil-pump-assembly/

Great bit of kit though https://boundarypumps.com/shop/nissan/vq-vhr-billet-oil-pump-assembly/ I have asked how much a VQ37 rod weighs. I can order a set of K1 rods for a good price. They also weigh 575 grams. Gonne compare them. Your comment got me thinking. 😛 Also for the oil pump, I was looking at one of those months ago. Maybe just ease a bit on the build and spend a few Euros more. I'm not in a hurry. I really love the 4.08 rear end. It makes the Z so much more alive and especially on roads and circuits with a lot of bends it's really nice. Just the little extra a VQ needs. Have you got a sound clip or little movie somewhere from your car? Would like to hear something.
Hansburger
Finally the new exhaust is rattle and leak free. 😎💪 The clamps which came with the Y-pipe from Tarmac Sportz are rubbish... Edit! Also ordered some rods for the VQ37 build. K1 rods weighing only 575 grams. And decided to go for the Boundary oil pump gears. 😍 Edited July 21, 2022 by Hansburger
daveo132
I've been thinking about getting the Tarmac Sportz Y pipe soon. What issues did you have?

Overall it's a great Y pipe, fitment is really good. But it's fabricated as a slip-on pipe with clamps. I works great for fitting the Y pipe, but it just doesn't seal properly. So it makes a terrible rattling noise, especially by deceleration. According to Tarmac Sportz a little exhaust paste would solve this. My exhaust specialist told me never to use paste, as it's only for temporary solutions. So I decided to let him weld it together. If you get one I sugest you fit it first to get the right dimensions. Then let someone weld it and you've got a great Y pipe!

Hansburger
A delivery by Concept Z Performance yesterday! The first OEM nuts and bolts arrived to replace the "rusty" ones from the undercarriage. 😎 Since I still need to fit the Kaaz differential I decided to get the Nismo cover as well. Aaaaaaand another part for the VQ37HR build! Making sure the oil pump gears don't schred apart in higher RPM's I ordered the billet gears from Boundary. 😍
