Intermittent Roof Probs - Roadster

Hi, I seem to have a bit an intermittent fault occurring when I put my roof back up. Taking it down is no problem, it all seems to fold away as it should, but when I come to put it back up it stops at the final part of the sequence i.e. after the lid has shut the rear window section doesnt go down.

Funny thing is that if I leave it for say 10 mins then go back to it it'll work, but then immediately after that if I operate it again (put it back down and up) the same thing happens more often than not.

Anyone come across this before? I plan on getting a new hood soon so if something's on it's way out I'll look at sorting it sooner rather than later!

Cheers

Hi, yes I'm aware that you're not supposed to use it when it's cold out, presumably as the fabric gets stiff and puts strain on the motors, but I tried it today at dinner time when it was showing 11 degrees and the car had been sat in the sun so the hood was warm to touch so I don't think it's anything related to that (I could be wrong though), it seems more electrical as I can hear relays clicking but no movement on the actual hood.

Hi, yes I have engine running so don't think it's a voltage issue although I have tried it without it running for no reason other than to try it and it's the same.

I will lubricate everything however again I'm not sure if it's anything sticking as the motor operates the first, second and third sequence in that bit of the roof fine, there's no attempt for it to move on the final part. Puzzler!!
