GeraldD
HI, My current mechanic (small independent one) told me he wasn't the best person for japanese performance car so i'm on the hunt for a place or person to service my 350z with a bit of love . Commercial or independent welcomed , i'm Located in Essex just outside of Maldon CM3.
coldel
That's odd, my dad and brother service my cars and they are not Jap car experts in any shape or form - its just oil, sparks etc. nothing technical? Abbey are just around the M25 from you, check out the other traders on here also.

Flex
I agree with CD, nothing overly complicated but if he's put off then best go somewhere you can trust. Abbey are well known and trusted on the forum. Pastry chef? Sounds like a sweet job. I'll get my coat.

evilscorp
If you think there is a major difference in servicing jap cars compared with euro boxes he is not a mechanic!!! My missus Audi uses a special tool for the haldex oil filter, my mates megan well thats another story... Every jap car I have worked on has been a pleasure, the only issue would be since a V6 can be complex with the front timing apart from that wtf! Dal B
I'm based in Essex and use Local vehicle solutions in Basildon. Tom the owner builds his own driftcars from scratch and does a lot of work on various jap cars from drifting championships as he is a certified cage maker/fitter. He also used to work on GTR's and has a lot of knowledge on rotary engines. He's done every modification on my 370 and serviced it every year. I'm booked in for my next load of work with him this month and wouldn't take the Z anywhere else except Abbey motorsports http://www.localvehiclesolutions.co.uk/

RobPhoboS
It sounds like he just doesn't want to work on it (for whatever reason) Sly at Kaizer Motor Company is probably closest to you (near Rochester) another trusted garage and forum affiliate http://www.kaizermotor.co.uk
SHEZZA
I asked a local Indy about changing the plugs on mine once, he asked what litre it was then said no thanks ! Never went there again. Ended up changing them myself, piece of cake !
