SiriusProjects
Hi Guys, Quick Question. Is there a way to disable the passenger side airbag (without removing fuses or anything like that) in the 350Z? I only ask because a friend of mine wanted me to pick up her little girl from nursery a while ago and asked me the question as there is a safety issue. She has a VW golf and apparently you can disable/enable the air bag in the VW using the key. I just wondered if there is a way to do it in the zed. Thanks. HEADPHONES
Afraid not buddy. I don't think kiddies were high on the design brief.
karlh
In the USA Nissan sells a kit to disable the passenger airbag. It's pricey (over $500 US), and you need to get a form from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to complete the purchase. Essentially the kit contains two resistors and a key-operated switch that splices into the airbag harness. When the key switch is turned, the airbag is switched out and the resistors are switched in, keeping the system from turning on the airbag warning light. SiriusProjects
Thanks guys. As for buying a kit for $500, think I'll give it a miss. Lol.
