rabbitstew
I paid £140 for my mega light weight lithium battery for my Ducati the other year vs £30 a standard one would have cost me. Weight saving was astounding though as the light weight one was made out of carbon etc.

Aashenfox
I paid 190e for a very swish lightweight battery for my S2000, I can't imagine it being more than 300 quid, and if it is, WHY?? edit: Just saw the link, and question remains...WHY?? (yes, I realise it's li-ion, I know all about these kinds of batteries, I use the most advanced kind for my hobby, this doesn't justify a grand!!) GMballistic
Ridiculous money for a battery imo. Don't care if it saves you a 100kg (which it won't) it's not worth paying that much for a car battery.
Jetpilot
I have spoken to the guy at Braille, really helpful guy who said sent it to him and he will see if he can revive it, so will give it a whirl before i get something else in its place. gangzoom
My maths may be way off (haven't done proper battery power calculations since A-Level), but if Tesla was charging the same amount of £ per kWh, than the cost of the batteries in the Tesla we have on order alone will be £150,000-£370,000 (depending which amp rating you take as the real capacity from the website)!! Given we're are paying less than half that for the whole car I reckon we're getting a bargain . Edited January 20, 2017 by gangzoom
Jetpilot
But if Tesla could get their batteries down to under 2kg which this is, maybe they would be onto a winner
Aashenfox
I know you're not serious, but the pedant in me cannot help pointing out that it takes a LOT more power density to get 1.5 tons of metal to 100mph than it does to turn over a cold engine.
