veeg33
Passenger window not working 100% recently, not sure if this was due to winter or just coincidence. Needs a few go on the button to lower my window and sometimes jammed half way going up. I need to lower it again before it goes back up again. When i press the button, i can hear a click from the motor but it seems like the mechanism has high resistance ie motor has reached it max power and can't move the mechanism. And when I open the passenger's door, the window doesn't go down a few centimeters as it normally should. I have to lower it manually (if this works, before i can shut the door to avoid breaking the window when I shut the door). So, i'm planning to remove door card and grease the mechanism and probably perform the window reset. Anyone has similar experience and I would like to know how you resolve this? Is it worth getting a new window motor and replace it since I'm removing the door card? Any help/advice is much appreciated, Thanks.

veeg33
had the same problem with my first Zed.rather then faffing around I just bought a preowned window motor that was working good and replaced it.no issues after After a few ups and downs, the window seems to move freely with no issue but still doesn't drop when i open the doors. Hence suspect the mechanism needs some grease but i might get a preowned motor and do everything whilst I'm at it.

veeg33
Mine was playing up the once, the switch rubber boot had folded over itself. This might explain why I've been hearing weird sound when I shut the door, thinking about it now. It sounded like it's dampened by rubber.... veeg33
Just checked them rubber switch. Seems to be working fine. I guess the mechanism is seized. I can't even lower the window now. Will try to give it a quick service (grease and clean) and see if this helps. Else I will give Alex a PM.
veeg33
Managed to remove door card and service the whole system including the motor. Followed this guide here - - > http://my350z.com/forum/maintenance-and-repair/361241-how-to-repair-stuck-broken-window-motor.html The guide was really good hence I don't bother to take any pics n create another guide. Basically there are too many crap around the motor's core. Gave it a good clean with contact cleaner, added grease to every sliding and moving components, did the window reset (instructions are in the link above as well) and everything is working as it should now. Took me around 1 hour 30mins in total.
Mopedmark
Yep this is the problem with most Windows not working, the bushes on the motor need cleaning or replacing. There are a few guides around and it's easy enough to do,
