GC350z
How crap was that??? Did he do more than one lap? "It delivered it's maximum within the limits." Wont be buying that mag.
Sarnie
I know it wasn't his car but he drove the GT-R like a right wuss.

Sarnie
He could get a job on 5th gear. They all could. When he gets out of the car he looks exhausted as if he's just got out of a space shuttle. Watching his laps I thought they were warm up laps

Rob_Quads
Being a bit harsh IMO - He was justly bloody scared of putting it into the grass or worse. Having spoken to him many a year ago hes a nice enough guy. Its easy to think you would push it harder but when you are in someone else's brand new car that has not been driven yet which to replace would take months and lots of money you would be backing off a bit. You can see in the Porsche he was pushing it so if he wanted to could but did not want to.....and more to the point did not need to. If he pushed the GTR as hard as he pushed the Porsche he would have blitz the time.

And it seemed little or no time was given to the GTR. They maybe saving it for the mag but I see little point in that as the mag cant reflect the sound, power and drive of a car. Apparently 5th Gear will be reviewing the car on the 25th of Feb. Should be good so long as it's Tiff or even better Plato driving it as opposed to the troll. steve_b
You lot are missing one important fact. If its raining/slippery you have to take a BMeer out......therefore on changing conditions he would be quicker in an M3 than a GTR, WOW. I know that is not entirely true as they did not time it but does it not say that the M3 is more predicable than the GTR. Think it was a bad review under the princples of no helmet and no fire suit. If he was taking the car to the limits then he should be protected. Therefore he was not max'n out either the GTR or Porker. Still want a GTR by the way, but will still be like Ben's, an import which is not speed limited.
Stew
Or is it the tyres on the GTR are crap in the wet?
GC350z
Or is it the tyres on the GTR are crap in the wet? If you're going to drive fast on a track then all 3 had crap tyres. Maybe they were just wasting time by throwing on the M3 and very little of the GTR. The whole thing seems more like a promo for the mag. I'll pass. steve_b
Does not matter if its the tyres or the car as same thing when those tyres are on that car. Perhaps first upgrade in a 12-18 months time will have to be the tyres. Must rain 200 days a year in some parts of this country.

steve_b
stew if your from the granite city then surely not that bad. East coast was always lots less rain than west coast. (my family all still live near forfar, dundee and perth area and they seem still okay.)
Stew
Just seems like lots of rain! Saying that, that last week or two has been brilliant!
sinbad
he doesnt really push the cars.. just mashes the throttle to get them all sideways and drifting..that certainly isnt the fastest way round a track in my eyes, and bad driving more than anything. Why go out and ruin a set of tyres on an m3,, he obviously wasnt so bothered about wreking that car.... If he had to take the M3 out then surely it meant the GTR was running under different track conditions to the porsche and not a good comparison. Being 4wd it would relish a slightly damp track too. Sarnie
If you had the only GT-R in the country would you let anyone drive it uninsured? No. Therefore the guy must have been insured to drive it, so drive it properly, like it was made to. You don't have to trash it, but his lap was soooo lame, the back end never even twitches. One second ahead of the 911 could of been 3 or 4 sec's. Or maybe the 911 wasn't driven properly either? Maybe the whole thing is a load of bollox
