beemerkev
does anyone know, or better still have photos of exactly how pop-up sensors are mounted behind bumper? Cant find anything on you-tube, or dealers network a long shot I know, but dont imagine many people have had to replace these units at all! Davectr
If I remember correctly, these are held on by two bolts (10mm?) one requires removing fully and the other just loosening as it is in a slotted bracket. Both can be accessed from above, I took mine off when removing the front bumper, but I really needed someone else to hold the bumper to stop it falling and pulling on the wiring. It was quite a while back so can't remember if you can get them out without removing the bumper.
Kev T
I have had the front bumper off and am pretty sure you can't remove the impact sensors without removing bumper first.
beemerkev
thanks guys........... the centre sensor seems to fix behind no. plate, its 2 outer ones I'm struggling with?? I'm guessing they somehow attach to the 2 headlight brackets but not obvious Kev
beemerkev
Answering my own question here! Outside sensors fit to bumper 2 small openings either side of main grille/air intake They maybe accessible from underneath with splash pan removed
