Djb92
I took the zed for its mot today and as per the title it failed on the emissions. I replaced the cats last year with a custom set up as they where already blowing. I took the 2 cats out and brought it down to one high flow cat just after the y pipe comes to 1 pipe. He's not sure if the cat is big enough or its the position of the o2 sensors. Does anyone have any idea about what it might be. Irn Bru
Could be it's the single cat, but mine passed (just) with decats, however it had just been terracleaned and serviced. when was your Zed last serviced, plugs, oil, filters etc ?. Run some red ex or better through it also, take It for a good blast and then try again.Failing that find a friendlier mot tester.
Djb92
Oil and filter was last done less than a month ago. Plugs I've not done since I bought the car two years ago. Does this make a big difference? Lucky he was a friendly MOT tester he was just advising me that its been failing.
evilscorp
The cat might be too far away and is not getting up to working temp, give it a good thrash next time.
Tricky-Ricky
The cat looks big enough, as said it needs to be pretty hot to work properly, plugs will if badly worn make a difference, same goes for a partially blocked air filter, if the cat temp lambda position have been moved it wont make a difference to emissions as they are not used to control mixture. Devilishdeb
I'd ask someone like Colin Banks. My Zed still has 2 lines to cats as I didn't de cat. It's surely also about a cat to deal with the zorst fumes in the time it comes out not just the size of a cat. It's a catalyst filter ? Good luck mate. If you take to a zorst specialist they've seen this stuff. Your car looks good underneath don't let some previous owner ruin it 4 u Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
