Omegamanuk
Has anyone had the oil seals replaced behind the timing chain that cause the low oil pressure if so what sort of money am I looking at to have them done? ZEUS
It's been talked about a lot, it's around 6-800 quid to get done iirc.
Cimanu
Hdev quote £799, believe Abbey motorsport are little less than that Depending on where you're based Mitz at Cougarstore, Zmanalex I believe and a few others also do this job quite regularly. Think Nissan quote it being a 7 hour job.. It's on my list of things to have done next year. What's your oil pressure reading hot and at what mileage? Just to strike fear in to me... Thinking about doing mine myself with the uprated seals... Mileage at 112k (put 6k on her in 2 months) and when hot my oil pressure is reading around 10-15psi at idle, 30 or so at 70mph in 6th gear. Richf
More info here http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/108292-oil-gallery-gasket-repair-350z-hr-and-370z/ Its not a hard job technically but a ramp is a must and the bottom crank nut is super tight , we had to order tools better suited to working on the railways ! A 1" drive- 1.2m breaker bar and it still takes two guys on it sometimes to break them loose
Dicky
Getting my 370 HR done this Monday at Falcon Performance for £668 all in (inc VAT)... Thought about doing it myself but decided against, due to lack of suitable facilities, not knowing what could go wrong (let's face it we all start off believing it's going to be easy) and if you get something wrong you've got to strip it all down again, plus you've got no warranty Thought of fitting a pressure gauge and monitoring it, but you can bet on the day you decide to give the car a go you won't be monitoring and if the downside is a new engine + fitting your looking a big bucks. The root cause is the gaskets and for peace of mind it's worth getting it done. It's also a selling point when that day arrives

ZMANALEX
More info here http://www.350z-uk.c...0z-hr-and-370z/ Its not a hard job technically but a ramp is a must and the bottom crank nut is super tight , we had to order tools better suited to working on the railways ! A 1" drive- 1.2m breaker bar and it still takes two guys on it sometimes to break them loose Very easy to loosen the crank pulley bolt if you lock the fly (special tool) However if you do not have the tool then the breaker bar trick always works 100% of the time.. The fly moving isnt the issue the 100ft lbs plus torque is , however the tool is very useful when tightening the bolt correctly
Cimanu
I have a friend who will be moving to a Nissan dealer as service manager next month.. so will be seeing what it can be done for there at a very reduced labour rate - GTR/370s in the showroom so presume it's a full, performance dealer. If that's still extortionate then i'll be contacting one of you lot! Low rpm hesitation when coming on throttle - related? Or a seperate fault entirely and cured with a map.. veeg33
Anyone able to recommend some one in West Yorkshire to do the job? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro I can't locate a specialist here in West Yorkshire. I found 2 options, Atkins Motor Engineers (North Yorkshire) or Lockwood and Greenwood (Manchester). I went for L&G in the end and they were brilliant.
