BenjaminKirk
As the title may suggest, where have people bought wrap from for DIY wrapping? Is there a sort of "usual" place to go for it?

valy
don't think Ebay is the best place as you can get some poor quality stuff from there I would look for 3M or Avery Dennison distributors I used MDP supplies in the past for their air release car vinyl (as an option)
coldel
Avery is really good, 3M also. Most good companies use either. It is pricey though once you go for larger sizes. Do practice on small things first, it does look so easy on videos etc but it is an acquired skill to do it properly. Also ensure you do the prep first, any tiny particle of dirt under the wrap will stick through and not give a smooth finish.

Lots of the suppliers have eBay shops aswell.
BenjaminKirk
Cheers for the replies! I'm only covering the roof at the moment anyway so I won't need much
Ekona
You'll need twice as much as you think, one lot to throw away when you f*ck it up the first time
coldel
If doing the roof, use the tape that cuts the vinyl to do any lines that go against the bodywork, don't take a knife to it!
coldel
...and remember to post application heat it to ensure its finished properly.

lmc
Looking to buy some 3m wrap but living in darkest Devon there's nowhere local to get it from so where's the best place to buy it from online?
Ekona
Wherever is cheapest, really. Have a Google and pay by credit card, you're safe that way
GrahameJ
eBay shop - CarcarStyleLimited does 3M film: http://stores.ebay.co.uk/CarcarStyleLimited I bought some Carbon fibre wrap to make up some fake Nismo B-pillar trims, which turned out well: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/381348034768 Dan is correct, buy plenty. I spent ages on the first pillar trying to smooth out the creases with a heat gun. When I ripped off the first attempt in desperation, I found the wrap actually had an outer protective film, and I was trying to smooth out that.

coldel
Found this in the ebay link, anyone seen adhesive carbon fabric wrap before? Or used it? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Carbon-Fibre-Fabric-Cloth-Black-1000mm-39-4in-x-1350mm-53-1in-Vinyl-Wrap-Film-/190696567460
zippypooz
Use Avery Supreme. I do this for a living. 3M are good but not a patch on Avery. You can order it from Spandex Uk. https://shop.spandex.com/en_GB/product-catalogue/vehicle-wrap-protection-accessories/colour-change-vehicle-wrap-films/high-performance-vehicle-wrap-films/avery-supreme-wrapping-film/p/f10
