GeorgeB
Hopefully you guys can access this link. https://goo.gl/photos/CfDfkMoUXuVu1QFc9 I sometimes hear this sound when I turn the ignition on, before the engine is started. Not the sound coming from the gauges, but the du du du du du type sound! It doesn't happen every time I turn the ignition on and it always stops after a few seconds. Can anyone confirm if this is the fuel pump priming? Could it be anything else? Assuming it is the fuel pump, what do I need to do about it? Thanks! Gassy
Hi George,to me I doesn't sound like fuel pump, you may be able to narrow it down as the pump is located behind the passenger seat underneath the glove box(easy to get to) just get you close and get somebody to put the ignition on and see if the noise comes from that area.Or does the noise come more from under the bonnet if so it could be the fuel pressure regulator?. Please note I could be wrong it could be something completely different. On a lighter note it sounds like an alien í ½í±½ getting excited to be going for a drive in your Zed. TT350
Pump is usually a brief whine/buzz while it primes. Mines a walbro 255lph and it's always more audible than the standard one was. Especially when running low.

GeorgeB
lol, don't worry mate, it hasn't moved for ages! I don't *think* the sounds comes from behind the passenger seat. I'll have to check next time it happens, always fun when things are intermittent!
evilscorp
Isn't the fuel pump behind the drivers seat? Been a while since I changed mine.
