Keyser
So a few bits been going on and something that is somewhere between scary and hysterical so starting with some more mundane bits – We replaced all the oil lines from the dry sump system with nice new ones Moving on we need an air inlet for the Turbo so we decided that the best thing to do was add a scoop on the side something like this - starting here So we got the experts in and Beb got to work creating in his own speacial way, He made this? and stuck it on (we just stood back to be honest Then he added fibre glass and took the mould out Came out quite well to be fair Thanks Beb More (crazy s**t) soon ............................

Keyser
Hi all, Having an evening off from the garage tonight so thought I would bring you up to speed, few bits n bobs been happening, Strating with this ally off cut - bit of shaping Test fit The AMS 2000 boost controller has a G sensor in it and this will be used in the mapping to help lift off map so I don’t over boost coming into the corners, the instructions recommend it is mounted in line or at 90 degrees to the direction of travel and as close to level as possible. More in a mo ......................
Keyser
Now for a saga that is still bugging me somewhat, I think we are on the 5th variation and we still don't know if it's going to work but the only way to find out is to build it, drive it and see what happens This solution came about for 2 reasons and several options were looked at, the new charge cooler does not fit under the original bonnet scoop we looked at a few options including using an intercooler and a different style of charge cooler but in the end we went with the one we planned on because it was the best for the job. The engine not being central to the car does not help, anyway we cut out some bits and got the back cover to sit all the way down - Thats the first problem sort of sorted, now we move onto the next - we need to cool the charge cooler so radiator/s are needed I have 4 to choose from the first was going to be this - started making a temp frame up to hold it but it was to big so we switched to 2 smaller rads, first one as we try locations added some tabs to mount them Yes I welded them so they may well leak this is where we ended up with them now we had to get them to fit under the back didnt leave much of the origional Please bear in mind during discussions we considered a lot of options, the first was the front of the car, but that just won't happen without compromising the shape and the crash can so a no go. Next we looked at the side pods in front of the engine rad (other side already has 2 stacked rads engine oil cooler and diff oil cooler) but Sean was concerned that this would reduce the engine radiator efficiency and as the turbo will produce more heat not less we need to do everything we can to get more air into the back, unlike a motorbike or front engine car the radical has the engine directly behind the driver behind a firewall so gets very little airflow. As I say I’m not convinced we have this right yet but in the next post apart from laughing you will have to agree we are gonna get more air back there more in a mo
Keyser
So be prepared fo a bit of a mad one So now we have everything cut out we need to make a new scoop ...... but how, I had no idea but I came up with this in the end enjoy cardboard cover thats not to cood sooooo ....................... expanding foam start to shape and build up the low spots getting there the final shape coverd that with tin foil and then got the fiber glass out well it's bigger now more soon ....................
Keyser
On another note, we need to get the air from the new Turbo inlet (as formed by Beb) down to the turbo via a filter so ......................... some ally pipe and a filter some chop saw action later load of masking tape to see if it fits all looks good so out with the welder and after a bit of cleaning I got to here Happy with that just need to do the top angle and powder coat it More Soon

Keyser
Just to get a few more updates on here to catch you all up – First thing was to have a test fit of the new “bulge†Yay it fits While it was all together I marked up the Radiator locations (they have changed I’ll get the pics for that in the next post) Onto the work bench First pipe to force extra air onto the first radiator Then a big scoop to get all the remaining air from the intake heading in the right direction, made a mold Matting Resin on and mold out Now the next bit was added after millions of £££££’s was spent on R&D and a load of wind tunnel testing – Not by me but by the F1 crowd for the new regs, apparently the air behind the bulge is dirty and the addition of a sharks fin helps to smooth this air out and provide cleaner air onto the rear spoiler and therefore increase efficiency and down force – even if that’s all bollox we thought it would look cool so we had to have one Something like this Lots of fun with fibre glass Starting to get it now Now to make it all look pretty and smooth…. More soon Keyser

Keyser
Onto the radiators and this has been a bit of a PITA to be honest, as you can see from the first pic the charge cooler is quiet high and the new bulge is already as high as we can/want to go so we can’t mount the radiators vertical and if we do the front one will block the rear, so after many attempts and allowing for all the other things we have to account for like a filling cap at the highest point, not wanting to put huge amounts of water high up and affect the centre of gravity badly etc we switched to horizontal mounting with ducts to point the air down (as seen above) The new mount looks like this – Added a support onto the zorst and added a support for the zorst back box as it can no longer be carried by the original pipework as that has all been removed in favour of a turbo setup. Mounts and AN10 fittings welded to the rads Powder coated the brackets and gave the rads a quick coat of paint just to clean them up Won’t know if it works until we get a shake down run in, hopefully we will have temperature monitoring setup so we can see how effective/ineffective they actually are. Fingers crossed ………. More soon ………………….

Keyser
Hi all, Well the Radical is still up at Big CC having the turbo modified to fit so we have been busy on the bodywork as it's still here - After many hours of filling and sanding the rear section was ready for primer - Then onto colour Now this will surprise a lot of you as it is not GREEN!!!! But it's not blue either Thats just the camera - my first coat was not up to standard may be as I've not used this paint before or it maybe just that it was a bit colder than I thought, stripped it down added heat to the garage and the second coat went a lot better, I also used my phone to take the pics as the colour comes out propery Yes it's purple More soon .......................
