Keyser
It's a Garret M12 and was recommended by Sean at BigCC on the grounds he has about 10 Busa's in his garage at the moment being turbo'd and his own one makes 1000 HP I told him what I wanted and what it was for and he picked the Turbo, I left it to his judgment to be honest he seems to know his stuff - The aim was for virtually no lag and 350-400HP at the wheels (that's over 500BHP per Ton) he recons it will easily make 380 We are adding in a new ECU and boost controller to put all this power down in an almost controlled way Should be pretty quick down the straights if we can make it all work EDIT: Buster dropped in tonight and said "The turbo is bigger than the engine!" Keyser
And no pictures of your ECU brackets Just for you mate More new parts have arrived - New CDL3 Dash and SLM Motec M84 ECU Now I need to mount the new ECU so I did a Google search for Motec ECU Mounts and found hundreds of pictures of M84's zip tied to bike frames several other ECU's zip tied to wiring looms etc I also found a few build projects where people have made there own mounts mainly 2 straps over the top with a foam lining. I only found 1 company that make a mount and they are in the US of A and its POA so I decided I would make my own. All you need is a small bit of scrap ally and I happen to know someone that had a little bit just lying around, so strapped that to the Mill and away I went - OK it wasn't that small Action shot montage ..................(mainly cause it takes so long to mill that much material out ) After only a few hours (3 evenings and nearly a whole day) I had these test fit Powder coat Inside has foam tape and then I added rubber feet to stop vibration Lightened the electrical system mounting plate and powder coated that Then we (Tim is doing a lot of the wiring) started putting the components together Also managed to make a new mount for the master kill switch as the new dash means it has to be moved that became - and a plate for the front They were powder coated tonight so I will get some pics of the finished part tomorrow More Soon Keyser and The Zed Shed Crew Note to Andybp - I asked Santa for a new camera so fingers crossed pics may improve in the new year

Keyser
Hi guys, sorry to anyone that reads/follows this I've not been keeping it up to date Done loads so I shall try and get some bits posted up over the next few days to bring you up to speed Starting with ....................................... The steering wheel So we decided that it would be cool to have the SLM (Shift Light Module) on the steering wheel along with the new Dash control buttons and a headlight flasher just for fun So took all these bits new 12 core spiral cable some heat shrink and a bit of soldering we have from the front and all lit More soon ...........................
Keyser
On to the dash ................ After the remodel we started wiring it up and laying out the switches - It changed a few times - wasn't happy with the Hazard switch so that went and we added more warning lights From the back CDL3 Dash and lights You would think all done in primer and ready for top coat But no - started getting bubbles in it, turns out the first coat of primer had not taken or dried properly and all the rest of the HB primer was more like a wrap than paint, moral of this story is don't use the dregs of a tin of primer that's over 2 year old So it is now been sanded all the way back to the fiber-glass and I put a coat of nice new primer on it last night that appears to have taken correctly so the rest of the week will be more coats of primer and lots of sanding so hopefully I can get a top coat on it this weekend. ( so I'm keeping on with the do it twice theme ) More wiring soon ....................................

Keyser
So onto something else I did just for fun (Twice of course ) If you look at the dash pics in the previous post you can see the start button on the left, it may look familiar as it is the type that I and several others have used in their 350z's. This one was left over as we never got round to fitting it to Mrs K's 350 before she sold it, BUT it didn't work - they are cheap and it's been sitting around for the last 2 years so We decided to go back to the original start button from the Radical but it just wasn't working for me so while Tim was busy wiring I got an old ally bar and set about it on the lathe - soon made this lot Which assembled looks like and that wasn't doing it for me either looked good of the car but not right when we put it on the dash so ...................... Yes do it TWICE, made this assembled Much better so that went in the dash No need for it whatsoever just thought it was "needed" More soon .................................
Keyser
Moving swiftly onto some more engineering (cause I love it) I wanted to sort out a problem with the paddle shift Pro-Shift system or at least it's mounting, Now I assume that as these are a standard kit and Radical just put them on as they come from the manufacturer the problem is the standard busa does not have a dry sump or a huge oil pipe next to where the actuator goes, So the standard mounting plate looks like this - and would normally fit onto the end plate like so but it hits the oil pipe and is slowly wearing into it this is what it hits I also found out that it won't fit my new billet cover anyway so time to make a replacement that will fit and move the actuator over about 9mm Raw material rough cut start milling to do the curves I made this pin on the lathe mounted that on the rotary table bolt the new bit down that did the curves then I did a recess to fit the billet cover and one for the offset not a bad copy test fit shows I now have clearance all assembled and lined up Happy with that (it will probably fail as I only did it once ) More Soon ..........................

Keyser
So a not so interesting post for you but the work that went in was a lot so a huge shout out to Tim who did the majority of the work on the wiring and planned the layout, here he is hard at it again So I won't bore you with details just a few pics of the job as it came together That's the wiring 90% done as far as the car is concerned, lights ignition circuit, fuel pumps etc etc we just have the AMS 2000 boost controller to mount and then the engine management loom can be installed More soon .........................
Keyser
Just a quick one - The main engine oil cooler top mount is a zip tie - so I made a plate up to allow the rad to bolt in top and bottom I then rather bravely (or stupidly) welded it to the rad Still working on my ally welding - if it holds and the rad does not leak then all is good While the rad was out I found a split that will also need fixing But plenty more bits to fiber glass yet so I will do that at the same time. More soon .....................

Just our of interest, how many colours are you going to use, green, blue and red so far! You know me I like bright colours Using whatever I have at the moment, if we get the engine in and running right then we will do the bodywork and a complete colour change as next winters project.
