secretstar07979
So I'm taking my new car down to Dynotech next week to have it on the rolling road. What will this show me regarding the performance of my car?
Zeezeebaba
In my experience any particular dyno isn't a bang on science and I've only ever used them to gain increases after mods. Yes you will get a set of figures that may reflect a close enough approximation of your cars output and definitely something to go on regarding any improvements you might like to make. Mine for example started out as a stock DE and have an initial reading of 280.1 bhp. This was improved on the day by Berk HFCs the Uprev route and a service to 295.3 bhp. Since then the plenum spacer has been added and on the same dyno it's coming in at 306.4 bhp. So healthy gains after mods and more importantly on the same Dyno at HDEV. Whether it was actually 280bhp initially is up for debate but the gains are tangible.
veeg33
If you zed is stock DE, you'll see figures around +/- 270bhp as above ^^^ but this will only be your bench mark figure before you start your mods to increase bhp. However, you'll need to go back to the same Dyno after the mods to an apple to apple comparison. P/S: Check engine oil level before Dyno runs =)
Tricky-Ricky
So I'm taking my new car down to Dynotech next week to have it on the rolling road. What will this show me regarding the performance of my car? Something to talk about in the pub!
davey_83
It'll show power figures in both horse power and torque to the wheels, the computer will then use a calculation to work out the vehicles estimated power at the flywheel. Be advised the same car with 295bhp and 260whp is quicker than a car 305bhp and 250whp *tested on the same day, at the same dyno. You'll also see the air fuel ratio which is handy too. Even returning back to the same dyno isn't an exact science as dyno setup can change from time to time. If a well maintained fairly new standard car goes on a rolling road and produces near to standard power, this dyno with the current setup is as close to accurate as you're going to get other than an engine dyno. Either way its all good fun Edited October 20, 2016 by davey_83

Lewis_UK
Could you provide a code? Blinks of the EML are easy to read, 1 Blink = 1 10 Blinks = 0 11 Blinks = A 2 - 9 Blinks = 2-

secretstar07979
It doesn't seem to be blinking at all? I'm going to ring the garage tomorrow to ask them if they have any ideas.

secretstar07979
I'm taking it back tomorrow to have it diagnosed. The car is under warranty so any bill will hopefully be covered by the garage I bought it from.
Zeezeebaba
It won't blink unless you carry out the pedal dance. Check out YouTube and search for 350z CEL reset.

Lewis_UK
Can I do any harm by resetting the ecu? No harm will be done, Will clear DTC/EML but they will still be stored in the ECU. (Unless cleared by a code reader from ECU)

secretstar07979
Luckily my car is under warranty. I emailed the dealer today and he confirmed it was. He said it's more than likely the 02 sensor due to the sports exhaust Edited October 27, 2016 by secretstar07979
