Dyno results

In my experience any particular dyno isn't a bang on science and I've only ever used them to gain increases after mods. Yes you will get a set of figures that may reflect a close enough approximation of your cars output and definitely something to go on regarding any improvements you might like to make.

Mine for example started out as a stock DE and have an initial reading of 280.1 bhp. This was improved on the day by Berk HFCs the Uprev route and a service to 295.3 bhp.

Since then the plenum spacer has been added and on the same dyno it's coming in at 306.4 bhp.

So healthy gains after mods and more importantly on the same Dyno at HDEV.

Whether it was actually 280bhp initially is up for debate but the gains are tangible.

If you zed is stock DE, you'll see figures around +/- 270bhp as above ^^^ but this will only be your bench mark figure before you start your mods to increase bhp. However, you'll need to go back to the same Dyno after the mods to an apple to apple comparison.

P/S: Check engine oil level before Dyno runs =)

It'll show power figures in both horse power and torque to the wheels, the computer will then use a calculation to work out the vehicles estimated power at the flywheel. Be advised the same car with 295bhp and 260whp is quicker than a car 305bhp and 250whp *tested on the same day, at the same dyno. You'll also see the air fuel ratio which is handy too.

Even returning back to the same dyno isn't an exact science as dyno setup can change from time to time. If a well maintained fairly new standard car goes on a rolling road and produces near to standard power, this dyno with the current setup is as close to accurate as you're going to get other than an engine dyno.

Either way its all good fun
