OliverB
So I had a bottle of engine oil in the footwell for a quick journey. Turns out it leaked. Took out the mat and gave it a good rinse with soapy water, proper effort required to get the worst out. Question is, how to get it out of the foot-well carpet, as some seeped through. Thoughts? Richf
fairly liquid and water , brush to a foam and use a wet vac to extract the water , you wll probably need to do it a few times

Quinster
Top tip- use Lemon fairy liquid. It works better. Seriously.
OliverB
Funnily enough that's exactly what I used on the mat! It comes out but in thick blobs, completely lubes up the hands so can't touch anything after! Annoyingly it has left a lighter patch at the front end of the mat, hopefully that'll come out when I have another go at it tonight/tomorrow. Cheers for the help gents. Ricey
APC agitate Wet vac Add infinitum You could also try pouring sawdust or those oil absorbant beads on the mat overnight to soak up the worst of it.
