Loving the build, such a stunner!! Can I ask how the body shop got the DE lights looking so new? Mine are ok but could always be better and I'm personally not a fan of the HR fronts. I removed them from the car and took them down to the bodyshop, and they then went on to rub the lenses down the same way you would with the various kits online. However, the only difference is they then clear coated the headlights like they would be from factory Personally I much prefer facelift headlights, they also have a much greater light output So with that being said, along came a purchase... The car hasnt changed a great deal, but that wont stay like that haha! Got a few plans in the pipework. Had to do some maintenance as it blew a couple coilpacks so bought 6 secod hand off here. It had a wash and full wax last Sunday ready for a few local shows And put away ready More to come soon, including new bonnet, exhaust rework and fitting of the headlights

I really need to get mine in the body shop to sort the front bumper and skirt damage.....south London wasn't kind to it whilst I lived there. I'm in the sticks now so all good I might have a go with one of the kits......I'm just not sure I am brave enough to do it..... 3 hours ago, Olly350z said:

Ive always wanted a set to be fair, i do personally feel the light output of the prefacelift version is poor for HID equipped headlights I personally wouldnt, not something Id feel comfortable with. Bodyshops only normally charge between £50-100 to do the work

Payco
I could be wrong but I thought the ballast was separate to the light and was screwed onto it. Therefore as I said make sure you get the ballast right. There was a thread on MY350z.com a couple of years ago I read about If my memory is correct. However, it's no different to my OEM prefacelift headlights so I guess that's where I'm a bit confused! I'm pretty sure they're just plug and play as they're oem units as well
Payco
ok, as I say I wasn't sure. Looking forward to seeing them fitted,
Olly350z
So another month, another update... This happened, Christmas at work... Then this... Which lead to this... Can you spot it yet? Super looking forward to getting it down the bodyshop and all one colour! Next up will be the headlights once I find a suitable driver's side! I also seem to have fixed my intermittent 02 light, which was an arse to find. Turns out I had a hairline crack in the sports cat at one of the welds. Quick dab of the welder and all seems well, it's been driven every day this week without an engine light. That hasnt happened in months... So here's a selfie to mark the mighty moment haha! And we also made a few new pals this week... Till next time!

Olly350z
Finally the saga of the HR headlights has come to an end. After nearly 4 months of looking I came across a pair on eBay for £485 posted which I jumped at. This now means I have a spare passenger HR headlight Was pleased to see in just how good of a condition the driver's side headlight was in. Was initialy worried it might have been a replica as the ballast and HID wire is different to OEM. All part numbers do add up though so all is well I'd like to know why it's different, but hey ho. Maybe it's a late model unit? And a little sneak preview... More to come!
Olly350z
And then today...
Olly350z
And finally complete. The HR headlights are a literal, excuse the pun, night and day difference to the DE headlights. I took it out last night and for the first time in nearly 3 years, felt comfortable driving it at night. Going down the bodyshop on the 11th to have the bonnet painted and bumper touched up. Next on the list is the Japspeed exhaust as it's caused me no ends of problems. I can't decide between the invidia gemini or Ark grip, so all input is welcome
valy
both exhaust choices are good,I personally would prefer the ARK but probably best to have a youtube search and listen to both
Payco
Olly.Welcome to come to mine and listen to the Ark as you aren’t far away. Olly350z
Yes guys, the ARK grip is now on my shopping list after lots of research. Loud enough when I want it but none of that V6 rasp. Best get saving! Martin, I might see you at Japfest If you're going, if not then Motors by the Moat
Sargara
Were you not tempted by a pair of DEPO headlights, for the price you could have had brand new headlights rather than used? I got my ARK Grip from Tarmac, great bit of kit but a heads up i recommend picking up some marine grade nuts and bolts that hold that burnt tips on as the ones included are slightly too large and go rusty quick. I looked into it, but depo headlights are for LHD cars and even for £600 quid, the thought of headlight aim MOT worries put me off. I wanted zero issues hence going OEM. Luckily for me both of these are in great condition so when I sell the spare, I'll be close to breaking even
Olly350z
So a successful weekend spent completely de-contaminating the car from the rather bleak winter we had. Started by washing it off twice, followed by snow foam, then washed twice with the double bucket method before then being polished and waxed. Wasn't completely without mishap, managed to loose an arch liner down the duel carriage way. Lowered Life! I also started the process on a order for a rather large, and special item. Hopefully be able to tell more once I know more As always, picture whoring Japfest is so close, I can't wait!
