Ging4 Ninj4
The person who I got the car off said the light is on because he did somthing with the front bumper. Is the sensor there and is there anyway to turn it off?
evest
I think you can reset the airbag light but if the sensor is faulty the light will keep coming back and be an MOT fail. Plus of course it's best to make sure that sensor is working in case the worst happens... But there is no sensor in the bumper itself - not sure where it us but somebody else will know. Did the guy explain what he had done?
ZEUS
Do a reset on the light . It's usually the connection under the seats that's the problem so check that (carefully). Reset is: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/58792-airbag-warning-light-onreset/
Ging4 Ninj4
Thanks for the link. Mine doesn't blink so this wouldn't work for me. Could the sensor be faulty? If so how much and where would I get one?
evest
There is a currently roadster being broken for parts - contact Jon at Emperor Tuning - he may be able to help you. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/111647-breaking-for-parts-2007-350z-wv2-roadster-rev-up/
Ging4 Ninj4
Oh cool. I'm getting stuff off him already so will see what he's got. Are they an easy install?
ZEUS
Could be the clock spring in the steering wheel, they sometimes go. Plug it into a code reader and see what comes up.
evest
Not sure mate - from what I can see on Google it looks like the sensor is next to the horns so should be easy to get to with bumper off. Should just unclip/unbolt. May be best to check the factory service manual if you have one. If not, PM me your email address.
Ging4 Ninj4
I have put a code reader on the car and there isn't anything for a airbag. I do have a manual at home so I will see where it is and see if I can get a replacement to work out what the issue is. Thanks for the help so far
ThreeFiddyZ
Standard Code Reader won't read and report an airbag fault as its seperate to the main fault code storage for the ECU. I would get the Airbag system fault codes pulled and read before you start replacing parts. Sent from my Xperia Z2 using Tapatalk
