davey_83
It's that time of year again. Routine oil and filter change, she also was in need of front discs and pads as Silverstone had permanently hurt the old set up. Mileage 84272 Thought it made sense to combine jobs, time to run up the engine from cold and draining the old oil allowed for partial replacement of the brakes. Not only did I again lower the O/S of the car to aid with oil drainage, but purged out the old oil by pouring in fresh oil with the sump plug removed. Yes this felt very odd, but worked as it help push the old stuff out as seen below. Magnetic sump plug found practical nothing, which I guess is a good thing. First time round after 12 months found swarf, but makes sense that it wouldn't so much there after on a maintained engine. Then a couple of weeks ago, the forums local legend @350Butcher hooked me up with replacing the compression arms. Went with the Moog option from Torqen. The N/S although didn't look terrible nor would cause concern during an MOT, over uneven surfaces made a right racket. Now feeling, sounding and braking spot on again. davey_83
New boots time, Michelin PS3's coming off so made sense switching to the PS4's. New tyres even for 45 profile, look to be squared off much more than the 3's or even the mpss. Really liked the PS3's, could torment understeer at will in the cold at slow speeds but on track apart from the expected blistering, felt the front end was always where it needed to be. Driven sensibly on road, never gave me bother in all conditions and the replacements are said to be possibly the best road tyre in OE fitment. I couldn't fit tyres, I'd be cleaning the wheels and tyres straight after for customers Edited March 23, 2019 by davey_83

Got mine fitted yesterday at Costco for £117 each so was chuffed with that! It came up as W for speed rating but the Y's seem to be better rated so went for them aswell. Rob350
You can tell alot of effort has been put there mate, deep reflection too How did you use that autoglym alloy wheel seal? I've got some but haven't used it yet, thought it be best to remove alloy, completely clean them then cover tyre and spray on. Did you just spray on the face of the alloy and tyre? Do you just spray and leave to dry? What do you think of it?
davey_83
Cheers fella, even after all these years the gloss and wetness of the paint takes me by surprise. I've cleaned and decontaminated the wheels using Carchem Revolt before storing for the winter, then on the car clean the faces and barrels as part of the routine wash *time allowing. Applied AG wheel seal using a microfiber cloth and buffed off any excess. https://waxandshine.co.uk/shop?olsPage=products%2Frevolt-wheel-cleaner-500ml First time I've used it so not much to go on as yet, but an aerosol means it's a quick grab of the shelf. It's gone no where near the tyres or brakes. Edited May 8, 2019 by davey_83

London350
Currently searching for my own Z and having a read through the forum/builds for info and inspiration. Enjoyed reading your build. What a stunning example. Your attention to detail is impressive and it shows in the final product. Looks sexy ex yon the ES2's. I had a set of 10.5s on one of my skylines in the same colour. Keep up the good work
davey_83
Thank you for the kind words and all the best in the search, plenty out there so take your time when choosing. Few pictures from the weekends run out to Kwik Fit Malmesbury, through the Cotswolds then back up to Caff & Mach. 162 miles that day and used just over 1/4 tank which I thought was excellent for the big Z33.
davey_83
Car booked in for MOT this morning and worst still at a garage I've never had a car tested at before. Old place (of 13 years) earlier in the year chose not to renew their policy for testing - great!! Fresh eyes over ol' girl and she passed without any advisories, I even asked the tester afterwards anything to keep an eye on for next year? Said 'nothing' and joked just tyres and brakes lol After a very proud drive home, with the wife at work and kids at their favourite auntie - I set about treating the her We know what this means...... Out with the old..... and in with the MD Used super low mileage O2 sensors fitted with spacers. Ceramic coated and titanium heat wrapped Motordyne ART pipes, XYZ full merge collector with 200 cell Sports Cat. Thank you also to Tarmacsportz for the gasket and bolt kit
