davey_83
Ordered some more wrap, wished I had just bought 500cm now from the start. Much easier to wrap in situ, however better to clean thoroughly off the car. Applied wet as this isn't air release, no stretching or heat needed just a small amount of warmth for the edges as per normal. Turned out really well and goes with the exterior bits done previously. davey_83
Thank you Tom. So this morning found myself with a couple hours to myself. Thought I'd do the thing I love most, well the car was clean so thought I'd do the second thing I love most. Point, shoot edit. davey_83
Couldn't resist a few pictures this morning at work as the sun was coming up, perks of an early start at least. Edited October 11, 2018 by davey_83
CAL-85
Soo tidy. With the headlight tints, i have also bought planned on doing the door pull, strut brace like ours (would do the door handle but don't think my talents will stretch that far....... but do u feel they affect the actual headlight brightness drastically? Although they are Zenons don't feel like they are great as they are so unsure about darkening them? Cheers
davey_83
Thank you Not driven at night as yet, but it will have reduced the light output no doubt. But the trade off for how it looks for me is more than worth it, plus the lamps staying glossy is a novelty I won't get bored off. Tbf the light output possibly wouldn't be no worst than a pair of really badly faded and yellowed lamps. Jay84
The lack of future headlight glazing is why I want to do mine too. Thing is if i go with any kind of smoke, with the rest of the black at the front, it might be too much. I've done yellow and black so many times on other cars part of me wants to go with purple, then do some other purple touches to match, for handles and some interior trim etc.
davey_83
Few more interior goodies. Background: So I'm watching the new Fifth Gear on YouTube 911 GT3 RS vs Nissan GTR Nismo and thought to myself as I've often done before, damn those alcantara steering wheels look amazing!!! Every car I've owned Ive always ended up changing the steering wheel (either for a sportier version or aftermarket) and the Zed is no exception. While I actually didn't ever think I'd change from the standard 350z item, a neat little alcantara one pop'd up on eBay auction. The add featured a few lackluster pictures, so I messaged the seller for some more pictures and it looked more than nice. I then thought why the crappy add pictures? Placed a bid and watched one lunchtime at work as the clock ticked down and ta damn highest bidder - well only bidder. Few days later and the parcel was ready to be picked up from Argos While waiting for my new steering wheel to arrive, I'd knew it would look out of place being the only alcantara item in the cabin. With that in mind I checked out www.tuning-shop.co.uk and ordered a matching pair of replacement shifter and handbrake gaiters. I had forgotten how much a different steering wheel changes the driving experience. Best way to describe the feeling........... Special and very M3 GTS. Yes it feels as good as it looks!!! Mambofever
Lovely car and great build thread so far. Makes me feel better about my mild ocd when I see someone look after their cars as much as me
davey_83
Around this time of year I always remove the WAI in favour of the OE airbox as I don't want it getting mucky, I guess force of habit with previous cars that didnt have an undertray. Visually the airbox just mutes the look of a dressed up engine bay and for a few hp here and there, I thought I'd try something different. Pretty sure I've not seen one fitted to a UK 350z, need to order some ducting for a complete CAI setup. davey_83
November updates. How to depress oneself in 2 easy steps, remove gorgeous 19's and fit factory 18's. Whilst all wheels removed took the time to clean up the hub faces and wheel studs. ACF50 applied to all suspension, brake lines, chassis and fixings accessible. Also for the last couple of weeks been noticing a blow from the O/S, kinda dead centre to the car. Had it checked out with the view to replace whatever was needed, however turned out to be the cat to y pipe gasket, so will order a pair for good measure. While up in the air, thought it rude not to do a pre winter visual inspection and more ACF50 used. davey_83
Today met up with the brother in law and Ricky in his roadster, before heading over to Caffeine & Machine near Stratford. davey_83
Couple of lovely beading shots from her winter coat *Soft99 Kiwami sealant. Won't be getting much use over the winter, salt grit and Japanese metal don't mix.

davey_83
Tar fellas, no not really. Can't stand a dirty car, even the beater I won't allow to get too mucky. Just maintenance stuff. Routine service end of Feb/March (Inc gearbox & diff oil, brake fluid change) wants front tyres around the same time, wheel alignment soon after, front discs and pads, rear ARB bushes - nowt exciting. davey_83
Prior to coming across the airbag ECU reset process online this week, borrowed the Carista plug in from our brother and installed the Torque Lite app. Had a little play on the way to work this morning. Had the car over 3yrs and never did a timed 0-60mph run, as using a stop watch or similar reaction times wouldn't make the findings fair. Helps massively not having to go into 3rd gear, steady launch and only one gear change to think about. Easy 0.2 or more still to be had with warmer temperatures.
