alfiecat
Hi Guys, Need to get some pads ASAP. Will be fitting them myself. Have std Nissan ones at the mo. Was quoted £147 to have the fronts changed only? Have 43K on the original nissan pads! Read lots of reviews about redstuff mintex etc, but could someone in the know quickly condense the options for me please and advise best place to purchase. I am happy with perfromance I currently have from the pads so no requirement for race spec, just good quality replacement pads. Thanks in advance. lomoto
I fitted the EBC Redstuff and they seem better than original and less dust too about £50 to buy

Digsy
I had Mintex Xtreme on my last Zed. They came in around the same price as the Redstuff. I was very happy with them and they produce far less brake dust than OEM. Initially, I figured that I was finding their bite and stopping power were so good because I'd come from a shot set of OEM's but now I've got a new Zed the brakes are nowhere near as strong as the Mintex. sinbad
redstuff for me also having had them myself, but if digsy is saying the Mintex are ok then they maybe worth a look. Ferodo DS2500 are meant to be half decent but can squeel abit.
Stez
Give Performance Friction pads a go from Big Phil. No squeal, very little brake dust and best of all great stopping power.
Chesterfield
Ive got EBC Redstuff pads too. They are still sat on my workbench though, so cant comment on performance. If Mrs Chesterfield gets any more annoyed that I havent fitted them, I may be able to let you know how easy they are to catch with your gob

bigphil
redstuff £99 full car set Endless VN £158 full car set Ferodo DS2500 £175 full car set Performance Friction Z £200 full car set Endless SSS £250 full car set PF have the greatest heat range followed by DS2500 then SSS then VN and lastly redstuff. Redstuff and VN closest to the standard pad both with less dust. PF top of the range performer and again with less dust than standard. DS2500 outstanding performer but bedding in correctly is essential to prevent squeal. SSS vast improvement over standard but lacking as a track pad. so for combined road and tack the DS2500 or the PF are the best choice. For fast road SSS fit the bill. For generall use but still better than standard VN or Redstuff are the choice. Hope this helps.

Tere
Hawk HPS for the street. Virtually no dust, no squeal, 30-40% better stopping power than stock, and great modulation. I use these on all three of my Z cars and the Altima. Hawk DTC-70/60 for the track (quite a few NASCAR and SCCA cars use these). Stop on a dime, no fade, great modulation, allows deep corner braking and higher entry speeds. I use these on my '03 350. Strictly a track pad, not for street use. Regardless of the pad you use, be sure to bed them in properly.
lotuscc
If you do a search, EBC yellowstuff seem to come out with lots of recomendations. That's what I bought and I'm very pleased. Good for road and track.

I just made that up to save myself some dignity The way I understand it the bedding in will be specific to the arrangement on your car. There is probably minute differences in alignment etc between your car and anyone elses so I think you might have to have the pleasure when you have them fitted. H5
You are bedding the brake pads into the set-up (caliper and disc). Phil has a method that I think you'll find in the guides section. EDIT: - here you go. http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11193
