judspud
Recently put a spoiler on my zed and now it seems the boot lid is too heavy. I have to double press the boot popper and lift up at the same time. Is this a common problem? are there any modifications or uprated struts which are a straight replacement to fix this? TIA
ZEUS
Yes it's a common problem uprated struts will sort it.

GMballistic
Remove the lead weight in the boot. That's one thing that I would say would help... Info here: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/58211-removing-boot-couter-weight-guide/ Could also try the "penny trick"... Info here: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/35706-the-penny-trick/ Something else to try. HEADPHONES
good YouTube guide here on "rubber penny" trick. even shows you a link to buying the washers!
Stutopia
Personally I'd do the rubber penny trick first and see where you are. The boot "weight" does magic on damping vibrations and rattles as well as stop it popping open.
judspud
already taken the weight out. will try the rubber washers tomorrow. thinking i may need to buy replacement struts as it does seem to shut on its own sometimes. Cheers guys1
brillomaster
SGS engineering for the struts, penny/washer trick for the initial pop. those two should sort you out
colesl4w
I still have this problem even though I replaced my struts with SGS struts. I went for the non-spoiler ones as I have no spoiler. It does stay open by itself now though which is a bonus. I would recommend going all out and getting the highest rated spoiler ones even if you don't have a spoiler. Bonus: You'll have a powerful catapult, lolol.
Stutopia
Struts will keep the boot open, they won't make it "pop" more, then angle of them when the boot is closed is too shallow.
