N4eay
Hi Guys, I'm hoping someone has experience or can advise on this. Have an issue releasing the boot, its not to do with the springs or not popping up fully. Its seems to be an issue with either the button or the release motor. I'm leaning towards the button as after say 10 seconds for pushing the button very hard and wiggling it around the boot will release, it's a real PITA! I guess it's worth taking the switch apart and cleaning contacts, is there anyway to access the button without taking the rear bumper off? Thanks all. Randy_Baton
You could try spraying the area around the button and the lock with loads of wd 40 and repeatably opening and closing the door. It may clean out the contacts without you having to take it apart. Have you tried pulling the emergency boot release under the strut brace, if this works then it would suggest its the button rather than the lock. N4eay
Thanks will give it a go, yes the emergency release works, that's why I'm leaning towards an issue with the button and not the motor / lock. Thanks for the response.
