asianRobert
Hi guys, I am currently wanting to replace my stock cats but can't decide between the berk hfc and MD art test pipes. They are both high quality and very similar pricing. I really like the MD ART because the rapsy/hissing of a HFC/TP is pretty much non resistant and it is slightly quieter than HFC and TP but I also like the berk hfc because it is more street friendly. What are your thoughts? Berks HFC Pros- No smell, high quality, performance gain, great fitment, can pass emissions Cons- raspy/hissing Motordyne ART Pros - High Quality, performance gains, quieter than HFC and test pipes, good fitment Cons - Bad Smell/fumes, does not pass emissions Exhaust System on my car: Motordyne XYZ Y pipe and Tomey Y back Exhaust
Rich260
I would say art pipes all the way but then I am bias! The smell issue seems to differ from car to car, I swapped my decat's for a set of art pipes with a friend. They made a very noticeable smell when on his car but on mine I haven't noticed any difference from the decat's. The art pipes are significantly quieter though. I have also seen that a few people have issues passing emotions test with HFC's so if you don't have an friendly mot tester near you I would suggest just swapping out the art pipes and fitting the oem cats to get through. PPod
Yeah art pipes get my vote, when i had japspeed decats you could taste the fuel but with these i never really only when giving it a proper blast. Also they do give off a great hiss when in higher rev range love it but can only be heard when windows are down wouldn't say its a con as it sounds great.
