Miller350z
Am I right in thinking the rear disc is only held on by the wheel nuts? I have put wd40 all over the studs and centre bolt, hit the disc with a hammer loads and it still won't move!!! The handbrake is off so I haven't made that school boy mistake Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
Commander
Not sure about the Z, but some other cars have a brake shoe adjuster you can slacken off too. They do take some yanking to get off... I hate doing rears!
Miller350z
Hi thanks for your response. Yeah their is a brake shoe adjuster but I can turn the hub freely with my hand so kinda thought if I can turn the hub it won't be a stuck parking brake. Could I be wrong? Paul K
I wouldn't think this would be true for a Zed as its only the handbrake but on some drums the shoes can cause a significant lip and will need a considerable amount of effort to clear it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

GizmoGold
I'm changing my disks and pads tomorrow...hopefully I won't have the same problem 😬
j0bj0sh
You need to fully slacken off the adjuster as there may be a lip on the inner face stopping you from getting it off Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

marzman
Just hit it from the back (inside) with a hammer? I had to do this on my BMW rears. Edited January 2, 2017 by marzman
j0bj0sh
Either way will work but hopefully you don't rip out the handbrake shoes by hitting it Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
andybp
mine had a noticeable lip after 70000 miles even after completely slackening the adjuster one was a real pig.
Science_GT
Mine were a pain. Did discs and pads all round. Ended up being quite a pain as a previous garage had ruined the rear bleed nipples. Needed a few knocks to get the rear discs off tapping from the rear in various locations till it came free.
