saint
I followed the guides on passenger seat removal, but there's an air bag in my seat and it has an extra cable compared to what the guides all show. It branches off from the seat control cable and goes all the way inside the seat up to the air bag. How do I continue?
richard.hezlett
I've removed my seat a couple of times and only 3 plugs need to be disconnected. 2 large plugs and a small plug. First thing I did was tilt the seat and remove the headrest. Then removed the 4 anchor bolts to enable me it tilt the seat backwards in order to remove the plugs. Chris141084
Looks like someone has previously cut out the plugs and hard wired the airbag in
StevoD
Looks like someone has previously cut out the plugs and hard wired the airbag in i know alot of Vw had this done at VW cost so this is not something to be worried about just a pain
Chris141084
^ I agree, a pain to have to cut and rejoin, but nothing to worry about. I've had to cut the plugs out of my passenger seat, it kept throwing a fault up due to a bad connection

Payco
Good advice Aliveboy. I have visions of him looking like the Doc from Back to The Future if not disconnecting the battery.
Dicky
Disconnect the battery before you cut! Your also supposed to wait several minutes, poss 10 mins to let any charged components to discharge
