Hi from Manchester.

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

Just thought I'd introduce myself as I'll be picking my 350Z up next Saturday. I'm Chris from Manchester, currently own a Peugeot 406 Coupe & am Club Secretary for the 406 Coupe Club. I'd been looking at the 350Z & S2k for a while, but opted for a Z instead.

It's a 2005 in silver with the 6 spoke (non Rays) alloys in excellent condition, silver with the GT pack & reversing sensors. I had a nosey underneath it before the test drive & surprising has an Ark Grip system on it :D . The test drive was somewhat, quite fun  .

During next week it's having the bumper sprayed as there's some lacquer peel, along with the wing mirror covers. It's my first RWD car, my first Jap car, so it's a new learning curve for me.. Gives me an excuse to buy mods & other stuff.

It'll be my daily driver & mods will slowly happen, not extreme ones, I like subtle things :D .

Thanks,

Chris.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone :D .

Did you modify your 406 much then? any pics? ;)

Not externally, less is more on the 406 coupe. My first one was a yellow V6, apart from the air filter, scoop, decat Tony Banks exhaust there was only a few subtle interior mods to both coupes.

My current one is a silver V6 that's already sold:

Not sure yellow suits the 406 but the silver one doesn't look bad. ;)

Plenty of mods you can do to the 350's though so prepare your bank balance.:thumbs:

The yellow one got lots spent on her, I just couldn't get att'd to the silver one as much as the yellow one. Bank balance won't be an issue when it comes to making things better. We all like to put our own stamp on things. If we all made the same mods it'd make things boring, right? :) .

Very long story cut very short, the Z is now home with me. I've already fitted the RDX aerial & boot divider from Ian. Also have a K&N panel filter with original airbox.

I've uploaded a few photos here: http://www.mrv6.co.uk/350z/

They're not the best as they were taken on the phone, but more will follow. I now believe the colour code to be KY0, Chrome silver. I am looking at getting the alloys powder coated in a gun metal grey at some point. At the moment I just want to enjoy the car as the garage has had it for 10 days, whereas I've had it for 4  .

It was towed back to them a week last Thursday as the clutch slave cylinder was playing up. They fitted a new Nissan part but the hose is on back order, so I sent them one from Horsham Developments to fit. Up on the ramp today I could see the new parts. They had a hard time bleeding it, which I knew they would so I sent them some guides from the net. After a quick wash with Autosmat Duet & dried with an Uber drying towel, it's now nice & clean. Over the coming weeks I plan to DA the car, clay it & de-tar it before deciding whether to settle for Wolfs Body Wrap or Soft99 Fusso Coat Light. I've already polished the rear boxes of the Ark system with Mothers polish. Windscreen has been clayed with Sonus green clay & polished with Duragloss Nu-glass 755. Also fitted a pair of new Trico flat blades that seem so superior to the wire framed blades. B)
