Jetpilot
How bizzare that nissan developed a completely different software/code for the same engine.
chriswills
the 350z engine does fit, has been done, there were some wiring issues but its in and running and the chap is looking into twin turbo at a later date. the pinouts on the ecus look to be identical so i think with a little work the ecu could be swapped. im not sure on this though ha
Jetpilot
I think Rich meant, you cant fit the 350z engine combined with the 350z ecu and expect it to work, not the engine doesnt fit. If you cant find a solution to access to the ecu, pretty pointless fitting forced induction. Sure its feasable with the right 350 specialist, but, being the first do it, will require some hefty r and costs. I would imagine the detune is probably down to something very simple like cams, i guess the theory will be you wont be using a vans power at 7000 rpm. chriswills
it has different cams, ecu, injectors, inlet and plenum. the 350 engine that has been fitted is running 350 ecu etc, all done on a driveway without major tech help. surely fitting stand alone management would mean forced induction is feasable? Jetpilot
If its running a 350z ecu then I would presume it can be tuned with uprev, no need for stand alone Edited August 19, 2016 by Jetpilot
chriswills
there are quite a few elgrands in japan that are charged so it must be doable, hks make a few kits for them ranging from 350-500 horses. just getting them is hard work. im going to get a 350 ecu and plug it in, see if i can access it wih my laptop then have a play with wiring, it cant be hugely different, most of the sensors are shared by the 350,murano, elgrand and pathfinder. Jetpilot
Do you have a link to the guy who fitted the 350 engine/ecu, would be interesting, might get rid of the bongo and buy one

Jetpilot
Well it arrived a bit late but picked it up from the docks today and drove it straight to the mot station. I am very pleased, the interior is immaculate and it drives really well, very quiet, smooth and comfy. So as soon as its registered and cleaned up will get some photos up and a few changes that i will make, may even put my te37's on if they fit, seeing as no one wanted to buy em
