Samcharville
Hi all Basically excuse my spelling I brought a 350z 2 days ago and whilst I was there it was absolutely fine , started on the button every time Got it home that day and left it until the morning. Took ages to start but eventually did Now it takes from 2 - 10 times crank stop crank stop and eventually starts hot or cold The way the car acts When cranking before it eventually goes it stinks of fuel Fuel pump primes New battery Runs faltlessly when driving ( little underpowered low revs but goes at about 4-5k Idles sweet as no, misses or noises Plugged it in to diagnostics came up with p0021 witch came up " bank 2 "A" cam position timing performance " Changed that cps on bank 2, no difference Cleaned out the valve timing solinoide and it fired quicker than normal ( might just be luck ) Thought I would ask here before changing the valve timing solinoide Any one had this problem ? Thanks people
ZMANALEX
Valve timing solenoids are in stock if required, just drop me a PM.
Samcharville
Would this cause the problem ? A faulty one ?
ZMANALEX
I honestly have no idea without checking your car out, however 30 minutes below the bonnet by an informed 350Z tech, should answer your question. I would firstly be looking again at cam and crank position sensors.
Samcharville
I going to change the crank sensor tomorrow to see if this is an issue
Samcharville
Anyone ?
Dashurik
Zmanalex knows his stuff....If you like me know almost nothing about the technical side of cars I would recommend you to get a good mechanic who knows about 350z! I learned it hard way 3 years ago, spent a lot before I met Sly (Kaizermotors). Like with any sport car you need a reliable mechanic,if you know nothing yourself! Samcharville
I'm not saying I know nothing, I built my 550hp skyline my self. I use the 350 as a daily so I don't use the skyline all the time, I was only asking if someone has had the same problem that's all

Samcharville
All fixed, was cam sensor. The new one I swapped was faulty as well so changed both and runs great
