Interesting. The latest Stones do quite well (for RWD at least) and the performance of the Pirellis is pretty shocking all round. Would have been interesting to have had a few more makes tested.

Theirs quite a few comments on youtube about the other manufacturers who didnt get tested. On tests like these most manufacturers are invited to send there latest tyre in for comparison, but you'd be surprised at how many company's dont (well thats what i was told by someone who has participated in tyre tests before)...

Are Toyo / Yokohama / BF Goodrich / Falken not included?? Can't see the vids at the moment.

Nope. Just Michelin, Goodyear, Continental, Bridgestone and Pirelli.

In other words, all the OE manufacturers.....

Right def changing tyres....tonight scared myself to death as i nearly crashed into a load of parked cars after weeving around a centre island, my Z's rear just lost it suddenly without warning.. and its just minor damp conditions out there... Bridgestones are CRAP!

So will go for either Goodyear or Toyo ;)

Bear in mind that with all the salt that has been put down until we have any significant rain you are driving on a film of muck. This time of year isn't the best to be doing any weaving or anything like that......! :scare:;)

I don't understand how people can lose the rear without trying or with the ESP on.

Mine used to twitch a bit with the 'stones on but mostly on junctions or giving it some.

+1

+2 I think its a bit more to do with right foot than the tyres ;)

A tip for those peeps who do tend lose it; on a rear wheel drive car, do not try to put power down whilst you enter the corner. Brake whilst on the straight before the corner, foot off or feather into the corner, power on out of the corner, but always gradually relative to the conditions so not too hard when it's wet.

Sounds noddy and I don't mean to insult anyone but most people only ever drive FWD cars when learning and don't immediately know what to do in a RWD when they get one.

+3 Never had a problem with the stones. They're not great but not crap.
