DON49
My 58 plate 350Z GT recently died on me at just under 180,000 trouble free miles. Local Nissan dealer diagnoses ipdm & engine compartment wiring loom damaged/burnt out due to water ingress. I am quoted £1,700 to repair. Also, they tell me the part must be custom made in Japan, so i anticipate a long wait! Has anyone else come across this, and how reasonable is the price? R35LEE
The IPDM units do fail due to water ingress and I have changed out lots of them. They are sometimes misdiagnosed as the car needing an ecu. The gromit underneath the IPDM can get dislodged and let water in. I have never seen it damage a loom but if it was severe water ingress then water can damage the plugs etc. Where are you based? It may be worth you getting a second opinion here. PM sent Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk
richard.hezlett
Try sending a pm to Zmanalex. He knows these motors inside out and keeps lots of bits for them.
Roscoe
I wouldn't trust what a Nissan dealer say. Get it along to an independent specialist on here!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
