Joeblacky
Hi chaps, I've tried searching the forum but I can't decide whether I'm being paranoid or not, so thought it best to ask the question to see what people say. I've just had a JWT clutch and lightweight flywheel combo fitted, new clutch cylinders and while I was at it the gearbox was sent away to be stripped down and checked then rebuilt. I got the car back earlier, and it's making a horrendous cement mixer grinding sound between 1500-2250 revs. And I mean literally you can hear it from outside the car on the street kind of sound. Is this normal? And if so will it settle down? Or do you think that they've done something wrong when rebuilding the gearbox? I'm really concerned and don't want to drive the car it's that bad! nharrison2012
Is the jwt a double or triple plate clutch? As ive heard some aftermarket clutxhes do make bad rattly noisey sounds when near idle speeds, might wana look up noisey after market clutches, see if you can find a few vids of examples and compare, could just be a normal noise in the end but i cant tell without hearing it

Joeblacky
Hi chaps, sorry I haven't replied for a while I've been away with limited internet access. The problem has settled quite a bit and whilst still noisy I've been assured that it's just the clutch-flywheel combo causing the noise. This thread can now be closed. Thanks again
