-G-
Before I collected my 380RS I asked the prepping company to have a tracker & immobiliser installed - which turned into an almighty clusterfeck, as after my first attempt at cleaning the car I ended up with water in the drivers footwell. It turns out they didn't fit any replacement grommets when running the cabling to the battery. I subsequently got a new head-unit, reversing camera & replacement immobiliser fitted and the new company doing the work were happy enough to address this issue when I brought it to there attention. However, after washing my car and garaging it before going offshore, the problem is not 100% fixed, it's miles better, but there is still humidity present after washing the car and it is doing my box in. Ergo, could someone kindly furnish me with the part numbers of all the weather seals & grommets associated with running cabling from the cockpit to the engine bay, or at least point me in the right direction? My plan is to go over all of the possible ingress points and replace the seals accordingly. To clarify, tThere is no ingres of water evident anywhere else other than the drivers-side footwell & because of the proximity to the fuse-box, I want it taken care off ASAP. I leave a dehumidifier bowl in the car as a matter of course & the car is garaged when its not being driven. Any other suggestions welcome
d95gas
Dont know if it helps, but there is an online parts list available for various models HERE might be able to see something in the various diagnrams.
Ekona
Tbh I'd locate all the holes in the firewall where you can see they've gone through, then either install your own grommets suitably sized (obtained from Halfrauds, ECP etc) by either disconnecting and re-running the cables or cut and reconnect, or if that's awkward/impossible then some well-aimed silicone sealant will do the job too. You don't need to buy OEM ones for this, anything will do.

Sometimes if it's not feasible to disconnect the wiring or cut and reconnect then you could do a small split in the grommet & then seal it back up with some black silicone sealant afterwards (not ideal I know). veilside z
Excellent advice buddy. Always try to avoid main dealer oem parts if you can.

Ekona
Speaking of Audi drivers, did you hear the one about the Audi driver who had the oversteering Audi? Me neither. Equally applicable to BMW drivers and the BMW that indicated all the time, before anyone starts!
-G-
Update: Transpires that it's the window seal that is causing the issue, it is pretty badly perished and no adhesion to the glass or the bodywork. I'm going to assume these are replaceable - but does anyone have any advice for me before I order some up? Cheers
evilscorp
That won't be your issue, it's more likely underneath you need to worry about, when I had my window replaced the metal a frame was starting to rot and the glass has probably detached allowing the water to get in and under. Easy enough to take the a frame outer cover off that holds (glued) to that weather strip, as for replacement it's probably the whole unit as Nissan (50% chance I am wrong) don't sell separate strips. Never had any water in my footwell though and my weather seal has now been wrapped over as it was that poor and doesn't get driven in the wet much now either. evilscorp
Just found a picture on my phone, its the badly over wrapped edge that is glued on that has started to perish on yours, dont think you could buy the strip from nissan.
