Windscreen rubber hanging off - safe to drive?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I got my windscreen replaced about 3 months ago. Had about a 100 mile trip yesterday and could hear a loud whistling noise when I was going fast - like air rushing. Then, today, I noticed the rubber surrounding the windscreen is about to come right off. Is this safe to drive on the motorway for a long trip? Should I worry about heavy rain?

Here's a pic:

Thanks!

You might loose the rest. Push it back in and put a little Black Mastic or Clear Silicon under the last area before pushing home. Make sure the area is clean and dry. Wipe any surplus with White Spirit. :)

As what has already been said, however these seals should be replaced when a new screen is fitted.

Prehaps time for a trip back to the windscreen specialist
