Robz350z
Hi guys, not long picked up my new(to me) 350z, but I've got no washers front or rear, and no headlight wash either! Sure this is a fuse issue, but does anyone know which one it is in the 3 boxes? Thanks in advance, love the car might I add.
GMballistic
I believe the fuse for the windscreen washers is in the drivers footwell fuse box. I can't be 100% certain of that though as I have sold my Zed, ...if you have the manual for the car though it will be in that. Just look at the index in the back for fuse locations.
Robz350z
I've had a look in the drivers footwell, and nothing looks obvious.
GMballistic
I've had a look in the drivers footwell, and nothing looks obvious. If I still had my Zed I would check for you. Does it have a sticker on it (as below) on the fuse box lid in the drivers footwell? ...if so have you checked the fuse marked "Washer"? There are 3 fuse boxes on the 350Z and if it's not in the drivers footwell then my second bet would be the fuse box in the engine bay in front of the car battery. Locations are in this thread for you here: http://www.350z-uk.c...-box-locations/ Oh and welcome aboard.
Robz350z
Huge help, thanks for that! I'll recheck them ASAP.
Robz350z
My fusebox in the footwell is different, no fuse marked washer, that is the start signal fuse in mine?...very odd.

Hhhhmm, is yours a UK Zed or JDM? What's the year etc? And again do you have a car manual from when you bought the car?
Robz350z
Mine is a 2004 uk Zed, manual doesn't help.
GMballistic
Took me awhile to find this but I think we might be getting somewhere. It sounds like the washer fuse will be in the most awkward of the 3 fuse boxes I'm afraid. It's the one just slightly under the scuttle panel near the battery according to info in the thread below. This thread: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/71948-where-is-the-washer-jet-fuses/ Sorry as I said I don't have my Zed anymore so if I did I would have just checked for you in the first place. I hope that's it.
Robz350z
That's great info, I'll have to check the most awkward one tomorrow. Many thanks again, much appreciated!
Robz350z
OK, checked the offending fuse, and it looks like it's been changed before, and it hadn't blown. Changed it anyway, and they still didn't work, but after a free goes, the rear is now washing! The front or headlight washers are still dead though, very odd. Robz350z
Update:- Headlight washers are working now too, that was only down to my stupidity, I thought they worked with the front washers, didn't realise it had its own little button! Still no front washers though, think it could be the dreaded blocked non-return valve?
Robz350z
Update 2:- Took the pipe off at the non-return valve, and nothings coming through, looks like the pumps had it :/
GMballistic
Okay then Rob that's good to read, ...front washer pump is the cheapest of the lot & is fairly easy to replace as well. Clark Motorsport are your best bet for this part (cheapest I know of): http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/207-clark-motorsport/ On their website: http://www.clarkmotorsport.co.uk/parts/Windscreen-Washer-Pump/488700010 And here is a short guide on how to change it: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/59243-how-to-change-washer-pump-motor/
Robz350z
Cheers again. I've got one on order now, hopefully an easy fix then.
GMballistic
Should be easy enough although you might get a little wet as changing the pump will empty whatever's left in your washer bottle.
Robz350z
Quite true, I'll run it out as much add I can. Thanks again, you've been a great help
