Alex350z
Had them fitted earlier today, god they sound good! I just wondered if they need any sort of settling in period before giving it a thrashing?

ioneabee
they take a few hundred miles or so to coke up and sound better ............ but never heard of anything requiring them to "bed" in - there are no moving parts in there - you do know that ? GMballistic
^^ What he said. They'll take time to "coke" up and eventually they may sound a little different but as far as a run in procedure there isn't one. Just drive it as normal, ...hard & fast. Alex350z
Sounds like typical rasp berks hfc's do I was thinking that, but i can hear the rasp under load. Im not sure, its a strange sound. Like air hissing, especially when you blip it and lift off. Edited May 31, 2016 by Alex350z

Rock_Steady
it could also be the flexy on the Y-pipe vibrating at low-ish revs when you put your foot down, around 2500 rpm? Mine makes the same noise yours does. It's never been a problem. Edited June 1, 2016 by Rock_Steady
