matt3579
ok so firstly im looking at the mrev 2 lower plenum 1 if some one has one for sale that would be ace or if you could point to a uk store i can buy a new one at if not. now the advice part from what ive seen these have mainly been installed with 5/16 spacers im looking at going for the skunk 5/8 spacer so nearly double is there going to be any issue with this bar fitting the sturt brace or is it just more common to go for the smaller due to strut bar fitment issues? thanks in advance
cascade88
1 - get a non revup DE lower (few on eBay ~£40) this will give gains over yours, it's to do with the runners being longer on the earlier one giving more low down and mid range power. You can grind them down a little too and spend some time with the grinder for a few extra hp If you're fussed. All the mrev2 is, is the earlier plenum that has has some grinding work as well. Main thing is the runner length. Google images will show you this better. 2 - just get the standard size plenum spacer. You will have no strut brace issues and it's tried and tested, the 1/2" or whatever one only gives slightly more power and that's way up the rev range. matt3579
once the plenum is on ive got some decats waiting to go on aswell and was planing on heading to horsham devlopments for a rev up map would you still say to get the non revup lower? cascade88
So what are you asking now, if it's worth it? Yes would be my answer having read motordynes site and the forums for dyno results when fitted over stock. Like anything you're best getting the remap to see real gains, some will react well without a map whereas others won't.
cascade88
The spacers do nothing on the revup engines, you need to do the lower as well as the spacer to see anything there.
matt3579
what i mean is would you still say it better to get a non rev up lower if im planning on a map or is it better to go with mrev and wait to fit it untill a day or 2 before i have it mapped? cascade88
Fine to fit before a map, treat it same as decats / induction kit etc. You mention the mrev again, not sure if you mean the actual mrev or are referring to the pre revup lower plenum. If you're still in doubt about the differences, google it and check out the my350z USA forum as those guys have proved it to death.
