codebloke
Hello, I have not driven my import 350z (2003) for a couple of months. When I started engine this morning 1) started as usual then it dies after a few seconds 2) second time - it sounded like a flooded engine but finally started... 2) engine still sounded a little rough like a misfire or something, it's rev'd but you can see loss of power - So I called AA to check 3) car got checked by AA man to the following outcome: - cables to camshaft timing sensors don' t seem to be snapped - no rattling or mechanical sounds - all the other the symptoms above confirmed - while connected to iOBD following fault codes show: P0011 - Camshaft timing bank 1 too early on system fault P0021 - Camshaft timing bank 2 too early on system fault - these are popping up also after resetting codes and engine restart (with the same misfire-like symptoms, etc.) Anyone with similar experience? Please help. Thank you in advance! Martin
Lewis_UK
Based purely on codes, it COULD be camshaft sensors. Camshaft Position Sensor Part Number (for Bank 2 / near radiator) Left 23731-AL61A Camshaft Position Sensor Part Number (for Bank 1 / near firewall) Right 23731-6J90B Obivously cheaper ones are aftermarket. modo
I take it that when you parked it up a few months ago it was all good. What I would do to start off with, is disconnect the battery for a while. Put some fresh fuel in it. Then run it for a while and see what happens. You never know might just clear it up. Good luck.
