Rawrsome
Hi guys, first time poster here but now I now I have registered Il probably become a regular lol. Had a few problems with my 370z First of all a month or so ago I noticed the first two gears were really hard to get into first thing in a morning in cold weather. My solution for this was to just start in third or to wait 15 minutes for the car to warm up and it got a bit easier. Gradually this got worse so I took it to the garage. They told me it needs an entire new clutch but don't seem to have taken the car to bits yet... And quoted me £1026 for the clutch from Nissan or £890 for aftermarket.. Apparently it needs a new 3 peice clutch and slave cylinder. Eurocarparts is selling the Nissan clutch for about £599 so can't see why they are trying to charge so much but maybe that's just the list price. Anyway a friend said that I might be able to find a better place to get hold of one on here, either Nissan or aftermarket (good quality of course) so any help would be great! Second problem happened a couple months ago and has just come back... When I first press down the throttle pedal to go I don't know if I would describe as a misfire but the car sometimes jumps as if I'm rapidly pressing the throttle down and letting it go once a second... If that makes sense. The problem goes away if I let the throttle off then press down again slowly. The garage can't find anything wrong with it and have done diagnostics, finding no errors or such. And ideas? I have done a quick search but can't see any help for this. Thanks in advance. Regards, James

Richf
The reason the clutch costs so much is that the flywheel needs to be replaced at the same time , the stock flywheel is a dual mass unit and there are no pattern ones that I am aware of (Its different to the 350z) , the cheapest replacement are the kits that include a new solid flywheel , new clutch slave cylinder as well as the clutch components themselves , as mentioned the Xtreme kits that Clark MS do are good value and they will cost around £1k plus fitting of around £300 at most garages The running issue could be a lot of things its better to take cars like this to a specialist who have the correct diagnostic equipment and experience
