bigfoot
Was out yesterday in my 2012 370z when i went over some bumps in the road and i heard a rattle from the back of the car. When i got home i noticed that the boot looked shut but if i pushed down on it there was movement, Only moves down about 2 or 3 cm's so tried shutting it a bit harder but still the same, Having looked on here and read about the boot release spring, which also I've noticed it does take 2 pushes of the button to open, but this seems a different issue, Is there any adjustment in the boot locking latch mechanism ? glrnet
2 to 3cm's is a lot, can you get some pictures up? As far as I remember there are 2 bolts securing the boot hook to the car, check those and see if that's the problem.
bigfoot
Thanks glrnet, I've had a look today and all the latch loop and latch mechanism seems still bolted down tight. I've been reading the threads about the boot release spring issues, Which also was a problem, I've attached some small pieces of rubber pads i had to the end of the springs and the 2 rubber bungs by the latch loop and it seems to have cured both the loose tailgate and now it opens on just 1 push of the release button.
