Vlad
I just realised that I never fitted oil pick up spacer when i fitted my oil pan spacer, but always wondered what that aluminum block is for...and while looking at the pictures of the Stillen oil pan I realised what it's for No doubt I'm either lost 2 bolts that came with it or mixed them up with all bolts. Does anyone know what's the size of original bolts? So i can get some sourced before doing the job. Thanks all in advance
Vlad
Anyone?
ZMANALEX
Same size as the OEM bolt + extra length for the thickness of the spacer. Make sure that you fit good quality spring washers and that you fit a bolt and not a set screw.
Vlad
I managed to find bolts that came with the spacer. Original bolts never had any washers fitted...so I fitted new ones without washers as well. You think it's bad and it will get loose?
Vlad
You made me so paranoid that I even had a dream about them bloody bolts You know your stuff, so I trust your word and will strip it all again later on today and fit spring washers. Good job I didn't put any oil in yesterday and double good job that I bought 2 tubes of sealant
ZMANALEX
Should not rattle loose if torqued up properly. However I always fit spring washers.
Vlad
Yea I torqued it properly and used a bit of that grey sealant on both sides of the spacer. Hmmm....do I strip it all again or do I not? Lol
Vlad
F**k it...I strip it all down again and re-do with washers and may be a drop of thread lock. Rather spend 1hr redoing it than it becoming lose and having oil starvation/blown engine lol
Vlad
Done! Left it to cure till tomorrow, before I put any oil in.
