ioneabee
No its not mine My parents picked up a brand new hyundai last thursday under motorbility They went out for a drive yesterday afternoon and someone pulled out of their driveway (single track lane) straight into the side of them ......... apparently no panel damage other than paintwork down the side (a side swipe) so, do they just contact their own insurance and leave it to them, contact other party insurance or allow the other party to just pay the bill for the re-spray
ilogikal1
Technically they should inform their insurers of any accident. However doing that will mean a raise in premiums even if they end up not claiming at all, because insurance. If they can avoid it, settle privately and don't involve insurers. If going through the insurance, inform your own insurers, pass on the third party's details and let them do what you pay them for.
ioneabee
as far as I know (at the moment) - insurance is included in their motorbility plan - so they haven't taken out separate insurance
The G Man
Motability will handle it all, there is a standard charge from them for each claim, but they (motability), should be able to claim that back from the TP. It used to be £50 per claim, it maybe different now.
Ekona
If it's Motability, personally I'd just call them and let them sort it all.
ioneabee
^^ just told them to do that - too much hassle for a pair of 80 yr olds to deal with any other way
