Ogman
Lovely motor mate, just scanned through the thread. I love how every project starts out "I'm just looking into a few bits and maybe an exhaust" Fast forward 4 years and voila! Nice tidy touches there
da.murf
Thanks guys. biggest difference so far has been the xtreme uprated clutch and lightweight flywheel. here is a side by side video comparison
davey_83
Nice side by side video, shows the difference straight away. Liking your other much earlier uploads too, all praise to Yeshua. Edited July 30, 2020 by davey_83

You got me seriously considering the pulley now lol. I come from a motorbike and Honda background so love free reving stuff. You notice any negatives? lol they where going back 13yrs. Little project for a church I worked for then. Still hoping one of them to hit the million views mark lol!
davey_83
I know what you mean. I had a lightweight crank pulley on my Almera GTi along with lightened flywheel for years and never had an issue. You of course hear about what can happen when removing the OE dampened steel pulley, however I very much doubt the SR20DE was engineered better than the VQ35DE. Inherently a V6 better balanced internally than a in line 4 too. No negatives so far, only driven it once for a couple hours - wished I had fitted it sooner but it's on now. That really cool, It's nice to see. Above modded cars and even cleaning cars that's my no.1 interest so can appreciate that. davey_83
VMS Racing bought new in box from a member on here some years back, this is a link to the same one. Very well made and even has the ever so slight recess to mirror the factory pulley, which I've noticed others dont Unorthodox/Z1. https://www.ebay.com/itm/VMS-Racing-Light-Weight-Aluminum-Crankshaft-Crank-Pulley-03-06-FOR-Nissan-350Z/311890702730?pageci=f67b9aed-1004-4c53-b477-581d065b082d&epid=17002480689
da.murf
Thanks for the link, another thing added to the continuing list of things I want but don't actually need. plans are to start to look at interior to smarten up with long term aim of bride/recaro buckets with a dipped interior. thoughts, experiences and opinions welcome as always
da.murf
Weather here in NI has been terrible recently. But was out with work recently and took advantage of a storm and tree lights lol. currently looking at options on hydro dipping interior pieces to modernise the look and then dye the headliner.

da.murf
Been trying to be more intentional recently about getting the zed out for drives. So last sunday night I txt'd a friend with his R35 to see if he wanted to head out on a short run/hot chocolate trip lol. just short blast over to Bangor Northern Ireland and back, few hilarious (on my part, that GTR is like a space shuttle taking off) carriageway pulls together and decent hot chocolate from red berry.few little snaps from the other night. It also helped make my mind up on the exhaust, I'd been really close to pulling trigger on an Agency Power Single exit and run decats and Y pipe etc for full fat VQ Asbo goodness but Ive realised that with my current setup there is a nice balance of induction/engine and exhaust and I can slink about if needed, without being all shouty. (may still by cheap ISR blast pipes at some point just for banter) Few Snaps
HEADPHONES
I especially like how the red reflections wrap around the back of the front arches in the second last photo

da.murf
Thanks guys, yes honestly I’d imagined this look for a few years but never thought I’d get there. plenum cover off for powder coating in October and then maybe hydro dip some interior pieces and dye headliner. still dream of forced induction but may have to settle for a map lol

davey_83
Stunning pictures!! You'll be chuffed if and when you opt for a rear diffuser of sort I reckon. Will hunker the rear down visual inline with the front and sides.
da.murf
Well been a weird 6-7months with the zed. Feels as if it’s been 1 step forward and 2 steps back in every department. But sometimes that’s how it goes. Below is pretty much an update from last October to today.so last autumn the car was prep’d for going away during winter months. Washed etc, headlights cleared, cleaned and treated by local detailer at PMG and new badge popped on front to freshen up the car. the car was suffering from bad brake shuddering, and despite the pads and discs less than 18 months old They where badly warped. They where skimmed, car sat on stands for a week. then it went under cover with a trickle charger Summer 2020 has seen the bumper smoothed and rear ducktail fitted but before it went under cover the rear spoiler began to react badly. Bubbles full of water. There is another thread about it and I’m not going into much more detail. so winter came and wife got me a lovely present for Christmas thanks to Reinis B Photography it was time to sort the spoiler and get it back onto road for spring.unfortunate circumstances with the painter led to Me having to sort the spoiler myself.old spoiler needed removing so out came the lidl dremel style tool and find metal wire. Then we realised the old one had been screen bonded on and 7hrs later it was off with no damage to the car.... never again Ordered a new KBD ducktail from California and the amazing AG Automotive sorted it.Had the boot lid painted at same time to freshen up and also ensure the fitment was perfect. Honestly blown away by the finish.time for mot.... ballsfailed on worn suspension bush and front window drivers and passenger side tints (chanced my arm with them lol) Must say a massive thanks to Coz at Torqen for sorting next day delivery to Northern Ireland when I forgot to order lower arms to company the banana arms. so off to Ricks Garage Glenavy to get full front end refresh and then to Ivan Kerrs to get alignment. Unfortunately due to Eibach lows it needs adjustable rear camber arms to really dial it in.... next month lolback would really recommend both Ivan and Rick that’s the car back on the road. Hope To get on a few runs and shows this year and have a trouble free motoring time too lol. Thanks for readingForgot to mention for banter I fitted a throttle controller today. Nice and easy install and sharpened the throttle response it seems. Edited March 24, 2021 by da.murf

da.murf
so i'd this up for sale for a few weeks as I'd decided I didn't need 2 project's and was going to put more into my ae86 But as people came to view the zed I realised that I was going to be waaaaay sad to sell it lol. Then fate decided that someone made me a MENTAL offer on the ae86 (ireland loves its ae86's) and off it went to a new home. So the zed lives on and I'm pretty happy about it!! Plans are new brake discs into 2022 as the Mtec ones (less than 5k on them) are badly warped, and even after they where machine skimmed (again showing how badly they where warped) they still aren't right after another 1k. I'm putting it down to below par quality etc. Looking at stoptech or similar to replace. Im toying with switching out the miltek for something with a little more 'personality' although with the Y pipe and decals the miltek sings rightly on WOT but the itch of a big ignorant single exhaust is there lol.... video of the miltek on WOT after this the tires are going to be switched out to the new TOYO T1r's (had them on the '86 and was seriously impressed with grip and feel) From here plan is few mondello international trackways into next summer.
