Does anybody know of any guides and taking the handbrake arm apart in order to remove the spring. This is so the handbrake doesn't lock on when pulled up but will lock on when you pull the button out. Common thing to do but it's a lot easier on s bodies as you just unscrew the button take out the spring and replace the old button with one with a lip on it.

Any ideas ?

You have removed the excuse of a handbrake drum assembly that sits inside the rear hubs haven't you? because the likelihood of those things being strong enough to lock the rear wheels are virtually nil.

It won't work, the handbrake is so bad it won't lock them up at speed. It's hydro or nothing I'm afraid!

Project MU made pads for the handbrake - worth trying (researching) those first I imagine.

Having researched it previously, it will make basically no difference as the cable will stretch within one or two pulls. Also, a hydro is nearly half the price and doesn't stretch or wear out.
